 DJ、プロデューサー、サウンドエンジニア。パートナーのGianluca MeloniとともにModernheadsとしても活動。ドイツ、ミュンヘンのレーベル『Prologue』の第一弾リリース、彼のソロデビューEP「No Name』はDebug誌をはじめ、世界中の音楽誌から熱狂的な評価を受ける。またDonato Dozzyとの共作『In Vaders』は、有名DJたちのチャートや、プレイリストに加わることになった。2010年にベルリンのBerghainで開催されたPrologue labelnightでもプレイ、その他Panorama-Bar、Tresor、Suicide Circus、Mikzなどのクラブでも積極的に活動を重ねる。近年、よりアルバムに近い形態をイメージしPrologueよりリリースされた、ダブルEP『Daughter of Phorsys』は、ヒプノティックなシーケンスによりインダストリアルなノイズを加味したダークなテクノと斬新な音の響きを模索、融合。ベルリンにある彼のスタジオで作成され、Resident AdvisorやBeatport、Fact magazineなどのメディアからも注目を集めた。2012年にはPrologueより自身の新たなアプローチを提示したアルバム『Shaman’s Paths』をリリース。近年はさらに自身のサウンドを追求し、2014年度の来日ではテクノとトリップホップが融合されたライブセットを披露している。2011年の初来日以来、本物のテクノを追い求めるリスナーから熱狂的な支持を得ている。

-こちらのミックスはどちらで収録したものですか？

ローマにある自分のスタジオでライブ録音しました。


-このミックスの使用機材を教えてください。

1918年の蓄音機2台。:-) もちろん冗談。でもちょっと説明が難しいんだよね、、。
自分のスタジオでミックスを作る時はラップトップとコントローラーを使っていて、コントローラーは個人的にMIDIの方が違うサウンドソースをコントロールしやすいと思ってるから、MIDIboxのコアに基づいて自分で作ったものを使っているんだ。スタジオではそれでRMEのコンバーターのチャンネルをコントロールして、ミキサーとして使ってる。そうすればヴァイナル、CD、シンセ、ドラムマシーン、その他プレイ中に頭に浮かんだもの全てをリアルタイムで使えるから。8チャンネルのミキサーと同じコンセプトだよ。8種類のオーディオインプットをミックスしてマスターチャンネルを全て録音してあるDATテープに割り当てたよ。


-コンセプトを教えてください。

最初はアンビエントのミックスを作ろうと思ってたんだけど、なんか途中でテクノ、トライバルな気分になって最終的にテクノに走ったね。正直最初のプランからは外れたけど、瞬間的に突き動かされたって感じかな。


-最近の活動を教えてください。

自分のレーベル〈Outis Music〉と、Modern Headsの新しいライブセット、あと次の大きなプロジェクトのリリースを控えていて、リリース後のライブ／ヴィジュアルショーにも取り組んでる。あと実は新しい音楽プロダクションにも参加しているんだ。テクノとは限らない、、、とりあえず〈Outis Music〉のウェブサイトで随時情報を更新していくよ。 ;-)

Driven by a common love for deep, emotional and hypnotic dark music they like to call "Voodoo Music" these two guys started a new concept downtown in Fuse club called "Initiate". After two years playing side by side they decided to launch "Initiate Shamans", a duo in which they play together on the decks.

The Dutch duo Wanderwelle gained much recognition with their picturesque soundscapes, intense, deep live sets, and warm musical atmospheres. 
Their forthcoming album 'Gathering of the Ancient Spirits' on Silent Season has been much anticipated, and it is pretty sure that there are much more things to expect from Wanderwelle in the future.

Today’s podcast is delivered by Alfonso Pomeda aka F-on. It is 2 years already when we heard him for the first time on the second annual edition of Parallel festival in Spanish Pyrenees. We couldn’t imagine a better spent afternoon with the deep downtempo and dub-infused vinyl set that he performed. This mix which was recorded exclusively for our series carries very similar mood and reminds us the remarkable time we had there. 
What is for sure worth to follow is his label Alpenglühen. This relatively new project adheres to the downtempo concept and offers slower music, that can be delighted without a rush. Alpenglühen003 by Vand coming soon!

Pijãr is a new alias of a guy we have quietly observed unfolding over the past few years. Arikas - electronic music enthusiast, a DJ, an active member of the Lithuanian electronic music community. At the moment, he lives in northern Norway, where together with co-minded people, he supports the movement of the electronic scene. Music plays a vital role in Arikas's life. It pushes forward both, his personal goals and various projects in Norway or Lithuania – developing platforms such as Tamsioji Pusė, Monument, and the „Behind the river“ Dj collective. For the past year, the artist has been in various festivals, playing in Norwegian clubs, closed parties and in his beloved nature, thus gaining musical and educational experience.

Submerge in a deeply hypnotising current flowing right into Norwegian fjords.

nAX_Acid aka Andrea Ruffino, another italian, will be providing us with this month's guestmix. Aconito Records, his own record Label, focuses more on the experimental side of techno with some stabs of minimal and ambient thrown in as well. You can hear that in his tunes. I came across this guy when I played one of his tracks 'Marilia' on the mix preceding Deepbass, almost two months ago. Loved this tune. How I define dark. Not this cheesey horror techno but an actual melancholic vibe achieved with a musical touch and rich textures.

T011 - with nAX acid

Giselle Isabel Navas from a small town just outside of Oslo, Norway always had a huge passion for music.

She started pursuing her passion in 1998 when she was 18 years old, and learned to mix with turntables. 
Later the turntables got put aside and she hardly did any mixing for a few years. 
But she could never put it behind her completely, and getting started again was almost always on her mind.
A few years ago she decided to give her passion another go, and got herself a couple of decks.

She has her own unique sound with Progressive, Tribal & Dark Progressive which makes each set so special.

Strongly influenced by Dave Seaman, John Digweed, Sandra Collins, Anthony Pappa, & Sasha to name a few. 

In the time since she got back into mixing again, Giselle's sets has been featured on many Internet Radio shows all over the world like Innervisions Radio UK, Frisky Radio, Proton, DI.fm, Chris Domingo`s Sunday Dip, & MCast where she got her own monthly slot.

2014 promises to be eventful and exciting for Giselle with her show "Beneath The Surface", plus other guest spots and club bookings.
