Patterns Of Perception are a collective of artists and designers who have come together to share a passion for Berlin and its unique music scene. Their purpose is to uncover emerging talent, whilst also promoting established Berlin-based and international artists.

Driven by a common love for deep, emotional and hypnotic dark music they like to call "Voodoo Music" these two guys started a new concept downtown in Fuse club called "Initiate". After two years playing side by side they decided to launch "Initiate Shamans", a duo in which they play together on the decks.

Despite his young age, his professional career began early: at the age of 15 his name begins to run for the various Apulians clubs, at 17 years his first album "Symmetrical Therapy" comes out on Figure followed by great collaborations with the labels Involve Records, Suburban Avenue and Enemy.
To date, Z.I.P.P.O has already conquered some of the most sought-after consoles in Europe such as Berghain (the youngest Italian exhibited before) and Tresor in 2016 and, more recently, that of Boiler Room at Viva Festival where he introduced a set that differs from his "usual" accompanying the dancefloor through house, disco and funk sounds.
Together with his solo EPs and collaborations Fides was also very significant for the creation of the 3KZ project founded with his friend Kaelan inspired by a retro-futuristic sound similar to Detroit techno.

The mild character, the passion for music and the constant and changeless desire to learn, have earned Z.I.P.P.O. the respect and admiration of agents and DJ's, making it one of the most promising talents in the techno scene on an international level.

nAX_Acid aka Andrea Ruffino, another italian, will be providing us with this month's guestmix. Aconito Records, his own record Label, focuses more on the experimental side of techno with some stabs of minimal and ambient thrown in as well. You can hear that in his tunes. I came across this guy when I played one of his tracks 'Marilia' on the mix preceding Deepbass, almost two months ago. Loved this tune. How I define dark. Not this cheesey horror techno but an actual melancholic vibe achieved with a musical touch and rich textures.

From a distance, far away in a remote place, our brain is perceiving a well-done prearranged set of harmonious proportions adding accurate structures and harmonies to the sound. Those pleasant and coherent modular scales are perfectly complemented by a well-used long and constant s sound known as tape hiss. Gritty noises, subtle percussions and low end frequencies exposed within the correct space-time, make the sound distance closer and closer.
