Can't believe the Animix series is already at number forty! and what a way to celebrate with this iconic mix from Philadelphia based @opheliaxz. The talented DJ & producer weaves an emotional, perfectly erratic and rhythmically exciting journey, filled with everything from ambient and downtempo to wiggly dnb & jungle tunes.

On this mix, Kelsey wrote "i wanted to showcase bass textured music in a different context, kind of a slow roller type of way with a few sneaky bits in between tracks.i have been fortunate to start traveling and playing out again and nobody here in the states dives into bass, dnb, dubstep stuff  often so i felt it really important to show off the textured bits and how it can be fun and versatile."

@napmusick, aka Daniel Rincón, is a Montréal based producer, DJ, and label boss at @sonidoisla. Aside from a recent slew of excellent releases on Isla showcasing some of the best contemporary Canadian dance music, he is also one half of producer duos @ambien-baby (with D. Tiffany) and La Fe (with Michael Red).

His mix for Eto Ano is a masterful amalgamation of songs pulled from all instances and contexts of daily life, providing both a transportive experience and sonic insight into Daniel’s day-to-day ventures. In his own words, it’s a “pretty colourful reverie of music; from pop, wave and Balearic tunes to Afrobeat, Reggeaton, and dub. Special shout out to a lot of the online radio stations I was listening to while shazaming for this mix [Clyde Built, Radio Alhara, Radio Radio, NTS, Refuge Worldwide, Balamii].”

The cover illustration by our dearest Noah Prebish is a rendition of a few ear-catching Shazam instances in El Chalateco, Daniel’s favorite Salvadorian restaurant in Montréal.
