New album - NŪN
The Alternating Currents are from Oakland, California. The band consists of Ruben Diaz as key songwriter and vocalist, Augustus DeVandry Lead Guitar, Eric Park Bass, and Joe Miller Drums. 
Beginning in 2016, as a cumulous group between Diaz and Miller, The Alternating Currents have cemented their sound with DeVandry and Park to become a band cutting a distinctive style from their contemporaries with a diverse & visceral cannon of songs. Fans describe the band as “post everything,” a thread between popular/traditional/experimental music.
Diaz applies a caustic but controlled lyrical performance and rhythm guitar with a bedrock of Park and Miller’s intricate and bubbling rhythm section, torn open by DeVandry’s gnawing guitar lines.
 
The Alternating Current's forthcoming album, NŪN, was recorded in Oakland California. Engineered by Alex Laipenieks of Owl Sight Recorders. The album is a textural statement of blistering production and raw energy, warping songs through a psychedelic funnel of tasteful affect that is cemented by earnest and foundational songwriting through Diaz & Laipenieks production partnership. Early reviews place NŪN among comparison with classic albums that also defy comparison and genre. The Alternating Currents have sculpted a unique vision of what a Rock structure can do in contemporary popular music.

​Dave Deporis was a prolific and unique American singer-songwriter primarily active in New York and California. Despite continuously writing, recording and performing for nearly 20 years, Dave never formally released an album during his lifetime. 

After his tragic death in 2017 friends, fans and family came together, raised money to gather, preserve and forward his music. For The Birds and Children marks the first release from the resulting project.
