Waltz Of The Damned

I wrote this poem 4/5 years ago and have tried setting it to music several times I might even have posted some half arsed attempt . Luckily my mate Mac sent me this tune and it just seemed to fit nice 

Carved in a tree in the nearest cemetery to where I live 
Hard to make out  but a little bit of spit removes the doubt 
There lay the names Dave and Jane stained with all that time could give
I wonder if that love survived or died or tried 

I picture them way back when the world was still a simple place
He'd work till three in a factory still damaged from the war
She sewed the sleeves onto wedding dresses crafted out of lace
Wedding dresses stitched with love knowing that  she never would afford 

She smiles rainbows

a romantic at heart

In addition to my attempts at music I was a nurse for over 30 years and increasingly witnessed the impact of Alzheimers on patients, their partners and their families. Tragic.
Apology for such a sad subject to write a song about but it may resonate with people.
Also I have sung the second verse in French, for my French listeners, so apologies if it sounds wrong to French listeners. (Franglais 😊)

Carl here, and this is my music. This music is an ever evolving reflection of my existence as I see it when each idea is brought to life. I believe in trying to achieve this you truly can, like any walk of life, explain the universe to yourself through that passion.

Music as a result has become the portal to a very raw version of me. In everyday life I am happy and positive and I think nice to be around but you might discover a different side here. Here is why I am that person in everyday life. Here it all gets bared and I become one with my pleasure and pain. I'll leave the bio at that as I think the mystery of maybe finding me inside my songs is more exciting...

In Ireland over the millennia a literary art which is called Dinnseanchas was and is practiced. This is an act of recording a societies existence both literally and poetically. These records aim to teach properly what has been learned and in turn society can move on in a more balanced manner. My music I believe is my Dinnseanchas for myself... I believe I am a better person because of spectrum of emotions my songs allow me to transcend. The Beautiful Dark made into as much light as possible. Because there lies the truth...

Here my modern societal example I feel has not been marked enough.

England beat us 2-0 two football matches ago. The two players that scored could have played for Ireland and they chose England. Nice... The most poignant part for me was, it was actually the first time we have played England in a match where there wasn't a fight... Sport is a brilliant gauge for ascending passed different such as our two nations. hen sport can be played fairly and societal hatred doesn't over power it.. We have evolved and we are a more balanced humanity. I wish all the time for a match between Palestine and Israel. On Palestinian territory. Shaking hands. Tackles. Arguments. Drinks. Normal. Sport and them enjoying it together. Someday soon please
