This song began as a well developed, funky disco idea Roy came up with on his guitar, and shared with JJ. JJ added a wonderfully complex orchestration of various keys, including brass, strings, and the sax solo you hear towards the end. 
  JJ invited Stephen Stephen first, who came up with the funky ass wah guitar that also carries the groove. Of course, JJ realized that this is a disco song, so he enlisted Ken to come up with one of his awesome beats to carry it along. JJ had a rudimentary bass line that he played himself, but decided to get me to do the honors instead. So, I came up with a totally new bass line designed to shake your cheeks.
Once it was in the can, we decided to ask have JJ mix it for us. This is a first time JJ has mixed a song for The Eclectic Collective, and we were all impressed with his work. Stephen mastered it, as he is a master masterer. 
  We're all really impressed and delighted with the experience of working with Roy and his music. He is a very talented artist with a lot of great music to check out on his page, too.
  We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it, and that it makes you shake your hips while you're doing the dishes, too!

So, I just dropped my kids off to the ex
and drove away empty hearted
to the restaurant in town where my sweetheart works.
I felt bad because I didn't immediately say 'hi' to her when I first walked in the door
because I had to piss so fuckin' bad.
When I emerged from the washroom,
with freshly washed hands,
I worked myself to the empty side of the bar.
Along the way, Gems walked by me without a glance, despite my mediocre attempt to divert her attentions.
'Had I upset her somehow?'
is what I feared to myself as I found my way to the quieter side of the bar.
I guess I hadn't, as she was almost immediately pouring me an OV to place before me to quench my thirst to satisfy my sorrows.
But now I'm falling asleep until tomorrow. 

I played my guitar on her front porch, waiting,
as I watched the moon cross the horizon.
Smoked sativa cigarettes 
as I fucked with this guitar line 
and wrote these words 
that I am reading 
to all of you 
right now.
Everything about her is inspiring.
She's my muse. My Gems. For now. Or forever? 

I sincerely hope I don't push her away
like I've done with everything else in life.
Up to this point.

 This is a song that Chris wrote on the drums, bass, and guitar and shared with the collective. We all love working on Chris's songs, and got to work on it even more enthusiastically than usual. Josh was up first with his lap steel, which he weaves throughout. He also added the sitar at the beginning and the acoustic sitar at the end. Stephen stepped in and added the gnarly electric sitar at the end. JJ also made his presence heard by adding the thrilling organ and electric piano throughout. Ken then augmented Chris's original drums with his own in expert fashion. Last, but not least, Tez added his electric guitat magic to the stew, as well. 
  Since Chris brought this song to the group, and is a fine producer, he did the honors of the mix and production. 
  This is our latest with Chris, whose music we all adore. If you dig this, you should go check out his page, as it contains lots of wonders to hear. We all hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed making it.

No explanation needed. I love my family more then any words or music can express. I give it a bash here anyways. Was too much of a heart ripper to share for years but sure... Bliss 💫

For those that listen and maybe feel they are missing a Bro or a Sis. What I find most extraordinary is discovering that your friendships can absolutely mirror and be as powerful as sibling love. Most of my friends feel like siblings... But a few I would also call Brother's and Sisters in my head... They give me that unconditional love too and I'd like to think I give back to them as well...

♾️Ahoo ha♾️ (My Grandad used to say this. He and his poetry are what re lit my musical journey at the end of 2023. When using his poem God and the Universe in a song I decided to throw in his Ahoo ha then too. it's down the list there... During making it I thought a lot about passing his ideas to the future. so many humans get forgotten unless the masses pick up on them. For me, this, his song my Nana's song are all the best for me as they pass a little taste of two of the super people that brought me to planet Earth 🌍  This song here gives a taste of THE most important for a lucky guy like me... My Mum, Dad, Sisters and Brothers. Thanks guys ♾️

Note: This was written when I was single so my kids whom exist now are obviously the greatest thing planet earth has ever made and will ever make. This song explorers the scourge of racism on Earth. Different amounts of melanin in our skin is really the only difference! So this 'lights a torch' for the 'other shades, the hues'. People of different colour skin! We're all the furking same. The Magic slur is when Magic Johnston had to deal with a biggited NBA team owner. the good Dani let's eat... Dani Alves picked up and ate a banana that was thrown from the stands. the racist gesture is meant to suggest some humans were monkeys on the pitch. Dani Alves stood up and was counted for that moment.

apparently the amount of melanin changes Iver time in our skin depending how long our decendants have stayed in those locales with different amounts of light getting there. That's it! apart from that we all shit piss and whine

The shivers in this song refer to the rush of a feeling you get through your back and body when some idea or someone has inspired you. A flow of nerve energy I suppose. I associate relating these feelings to reading shaman texts in my late teens and early twenties and when I was first going.... What the fuck is that? Those words gave a solid answer back then for me 🌿🌎

When the world wakes up from fear I believe we will revisit all these old cultures ways of life and truly embrace the truths we may have missed. There was possibly a less insular approach to imaging their own existence back then. Found, inside each of us and discovered in maybe a simplicity muted by the noise of the modern world.
