With “Caused Corruption & Spilled Blood“, the second release on Voidance Records, Chafik Chennouf & Katsunori Sawa have created a soundtrack of the tragic drama of humanity´s fatal flaws, meditating on the question whether the angels were right to fear mankind's creation of causing corruption and spilling blood according to an anecdote that all Abrahamic religions share.

The follow up „Mediate Between Them“ may not provide an answer to this question, but further elaborates on the topic. Whereas issues such as obstruction of truth for personal gains, affinity for internal destruction or longing for salvation were originally approached more internally by means of ambient or experimental electronics, the experience now emerges through the work of renowned artists Samuel Kerridge, Eomac, Nene H. and Stave using Noise, Techno and stepping Industrial as their weapons of choice.

Voidance Records is proud to present Chafik Chennouf & Katsunori Sawa´s vision once again, this time through different eyes of 4 unique artists. Not only is „Mediate Between Them“ the reverence these tracks deserve, but also demonstrates a huge step forward in the Label’s position as a striking new voice in contemporary electronic music.

Conrad Van Orton and Jheal sign the third release for Eyes Have It, 30D sub-label that, as usual, explores the darkest, coldest and even suffocating side of the techno spectrum.  

As it happened in the second release (‘Sei Tracce In Nero EP‘ by Reeko & Group), the high contrast between both sides gives sense to the album, giving it a strange but perfect balance, this time quite more oriented to the dance floor. It’s for sure that some people will think that CVO and Jheal might use elements that at first sight might be familiar but, let’s be honest, both have the ability to make everything sound very original.

On the A side Conrad Van Orton, an Italian producer with a lot of experience in techno and the most experimental electronics, elevates the listening to a sonic musical experience, literally. The three tracks, although ‘Dysfunctional Organic Device’ is probably the best example, are pure techno brutality, as highly raw, energetic and obsessive as they are obviously functional. Three true ‘monsters’.

On the B side Jheal, a face already known to the label thanks to his brilliant participation in ‘Close Encounters 002’, brings melancholy (‘150 Wreaths’) and tons of introspection (‘Our Fathers’) to the record. It is not easy for industrial techno to sound as emotional as when Alejandro manipulates it, something especially remarkable for such a young producer. Congratulations.

SOJ always works within an industrial sound context, but his works can be based only on small details that finally lead us back to this countercultural environment and later feed into striking nuances that take a hold on the listener. “Land Of Lovers and Hammers” is the perfect example of his work - a rhythmic industrial groove which a slow burning mood that forces you into submission.

Following a release on Barnt's Schalen label and the inaugural release for HAAi's Radical New Theory, the Australian/Dutch producer returns with a 3-tracker for the Dutch digital-only label, @interceptrecords.

OBSCUUR is proud to welcome back the excellent Liza Aikin, after her stellar contribution to the “Withered Tales” album. Liza returns with her own release, a take on industrial techno named “Infirm Past”.

Her signature brand of techno spans over two original tracks, a force of sound cemented by how well it blends with the remix efforts of Swarm Intelligence and VSK. This is an EP covering all grounds, from immersive techno to harder-edge dance floor percussion.

First up is “Hospital Bed”, club ready and on the harder end of the scale, it delivers increasingly frustrating emotions through percussion packed with field recordings literally from the mechanisms within hospital machines. Swarm Intelligence adds the remix favour, with a growling bassline and broken techno cuts.

“Enclave” follows up, with a sophisticated palette of layered pounding rhythms. Glued together with a hypnotically morphing melody, VSK steps up to the plate for the remix, plastering his well-known sound all over and slowing the drums to achieve a pure meditative hallucination.

Liza Aikin consistently strives to push her sound in new directions, the known mixing with the unknown, making this EP a rewarding listening experience both at the club and at home.

Random Access Memories: Es el cuarto álbum de estudio del dúo francés Daft Punk. Fue lanzado oficialmente el 17 de mayo en Australia, lanzado después en el Reino Unido el 20 de mayo y para Estados Unidos el 21 de mayo de 2013, bajo licencia de Daft Life. El inicio de grabación de este disco inició cuando el dúo preparaba el soundtrack de la película Tron: Legacy, sin un plan claro en cuanto a lo que sería su estructura. Después de haber anunciado su nuevo contrato con Columbia Records, Daft Punk empezó a promocionar el nuevo álbum con carteles, anuncios televisivos y series para Internet.
Random Access Memories hace un tributo a la música estadounidense de la época de los 1970s y la primera parte de los 1980s, particularmente al sonido de Los Ángeles durante esa época. Daft Punk grabó el álbum en gran parte con orquesta en vivo con sesiones musicales y con un uso limitado de máquinas de percusión, sintetizador modular, y con una vendimia de vocoders.
