Babylon is described as ‘a rich slice of dark reggae rock with a slight twist of drum’n’bass.  It relates  the term for Babylon (often referred to in reggae/dancehall) to today’s dissatisfaction with social hierarchy, globalisation, and basic dislike of governments.

Recorded at The Vault Studio on the Sunshine Coast by Dave Harper, and mastered by Paul Blakey at 12th and Vine Post on the Gold Coast.

So in this new challenge, I wanted to play around with my MPC Live 2 and sample stuff again. I took songs made in Italy and sampled them. This was track 2 of 9. I know these next songs will not be radio hits, but i will have fun finding loops, going back to my hip hop roots.

After half a year of hard work, we are delighted to present our debut album, 'Out Of The Bag'. The album traverses through many styles and genres and we feel it does a good job of representing the various sounds we create together. We hope you enjoy listening and please do share it with your friends, play it at parties and generally continue to help spreading the word. The support of our fans is what keeps us going. 

We have had CDs printed but due to most of the band being away traveling over the winter we will not be running an official mail order service until spring 2018. However if you missed the Crowdfunder campaing and you're desperate to get a copy of the CD, give us a Facebook message or email and we'll see if we can get one out to you! 

Fellow rats, we must sincerely thank you all. Everyone who has supported the crowdfunding campaign, danced to our music, spread the word or helped us in any way, we truly would have no purpose without you. Benga Belt Vol. 1 album is a clear attempt at unifying the pop sounds of Kenya, rooted in the cultural heritage of benga music and drawing creative inspiration from the Benga Belt of Kenya (from Kisumu in Western Kenya to 
Kilifi in South East of Kenya). TUONGEE WAKENYA references the extremely nuanced cross generational and inter-tribal conversations brought forth by the original compositions of Boaz, Jagingo, Missing Rotich, Msupa S, John ‘Kakee', Musyoki Mutua and the Abakisimba Troupe. The album is grounded by the prowess of Udulele John and Michael Ongaro on the guitars while Oduor Bernard Kidum holds 
down the drums.

The Cabarats bring a new musical experience to the global underground, combining traditional Balkan and Middle Eastern sounds with lively reggae and ska.

Using a collection of intriguing instruments such as accordion, oud, keyboard and brass, the band have dazzled a wide range of audiences from festival crowds to private functions and community events.

After the successful release of their debut album 'Out of the Bag', the last year has been an exciting journey for the rats. The band appeared on one of the main stages at Boomtown Fair and gained the attention of BBC Introducing, performing on their stage at Looe Saves the Day. 

2018 also saw the band support renowned acts Tankus the Henge and The Undercover Hippy, before they embarked on a tour of France and played some special wedding parties. 

Once again The Cabarats set out to share their magic at festivals, venues, parties and even a few street corners. Keep your eyes peeled for a performance near you!
