Catryn was born and raised in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains, which serve as the background for many of her videos. She got her first guitar while in Elementary School, but didn't seriously start playing until she was 14 (during a time when she was grounded and had nothing better to do but learn an instrument). Now 21 years old, it has become a hobby of hers to learn the chords to any song that interests and inspires her. With the help of her brother (who is gracious enough to do all the recording), and with her blue guitar in tow, she seeks out environments with amazing natural acoustics to play her music.

Under the veil was a concept conceived by Harry Payne and Rob Lanyon. Our mutual love of obscure music brought us together, it was only when playing we realised that we both had something different to bring to the project and those differences complimented each other perfectly. Harry brings a Classically structured background to the music and beautiful flowing natural harmonies with a sublime and serene vocal timbre and Rob.. well Rob is the Chaos incarnate. Beauty and madness a combination indeed for compelling music.

Priorly an amateur songwriter via keyboard, I soon excelled at free improvisation on guitar — as my subconsciousness seemingly channelled itself into a myriad of one-take pieces.

Being restlessly teenaged in the early 2010s, I spawned my greatest bout of cathartic, instrumental improvs unto concept album Serendipity Breaking Loose (despite being marred in poor digital recording).

Some may recall my premonition by the rather creative approach I took to so-called social media. In a wild experiment predating the EU referendum, I democratically unveiled several of my noncommercial releases via Facebook events — ending prophetically as it were with Blindside EP.
