A little more info on Touchsoul Edits & Mixes Music Page. He's got almost 8000 followers on Soundcloud and his edits have been picked up by the likes of BICEP, 6th Borough Project, One20 and I'm sure many house and re-edit fans have at least one of his pieces. Here's what Adrian had to say about his favourite CD...

"The reason I selected this for the series was, for myself, it being personal time piece, the quality of the tracks and the mix being consistently good. Building through some great soulful house vocals and dubs into some deep cuts that haven't dated since it's release in 2002. Having quite a few of these on vinyl picked up around the time, including Mindflight's "Release", Derrick White's "Soul 2 Let Go" and Kerri Chandler's "Atmospheric Beats" the mix by silky deep house man Miguel Migs was never far from the earlobes at the time. And being released on the ever consistently good Naked Music label, its great from start to finish. A true reflection of the kinds of tracks I played out in sets when I started out DJing. Enjoy!!" 096 - Respect Is Burning Presents: Respect To DJ Deep (2001)

The mighty Doc Martin is probably the LA underground’s most famed export. Ask anyone who’s heard this hardworking house troubadour play a three-hour set anywhere in the world and they’ll tell you about his superb and eclectic taste (finding the perfect balance between soulful and trippy), his wizardry with the crossfader and his uncanny instinct for getting a crowd going. Back in the day his residency at legendary afterhours warehouse Flammable Liquid represented the transition from rave to house, both over the course of any given late night, and over the years as the scene matured. At this session from the height of the rave scene in November ’91, you can hear Doc mix energetic techno and breakbeat tunes (‘The Bouncer’ by Kicks Like a Mule; Hold It Down by 2 Bad Mice) with deeper, dubbier, more advanced stuff – like his signature anthem, Feel It by Coco Steel & Lovebomb, worked to great effect on two copies here.

Hey, Gareth here, I'm a graphic designer who start designing for clubs, parties, and labels in the late 90s. Back then, mix CDs were the holy grail of both design and music. I loved them.

But I wasn't the only one, mix cds were the soundtracks of our nights, our days, our afterparties and lives, for everyone. Yet in today's internet age, the art form has been lost (or just changed) to 2-3 hour online mixes and streaming videos, which just don't create the same magic your CD collection did. Just 60 minutes of music and incredible artwork.

The Classic Mix CD Series celebrates these discs, their soundtrack, their box art and your memories. We hope you enjoy it.
