On May 4, 1992, Sasha performed at Mixmag's Club Tour event series in Rotherham.

To mark 30 years since the legendary set, the long-lost mix has now been remastered after a copy was discovered in someone's garage just last year.

066 - Journeys By DJ Vol.3: Mixed by Danny Rampling (1993)

One of the most well-known DJ's in the world, famous for his tireless remix and production work, as well as his long-running association with fellow top-flight Sasha. Beginning DJ'ing in the early 1990's in the company of friends like Fabio and Grooverider, he began to champion the burgeoning progressive house sound, most notably with his residency at Renaissance with Sasha. His partnership with Nick Muir as Bedrock in the early 90's yielded the club hits "For What You Dream Of" and "Set In Stone", and the runaway popularity of his Bedrock Records record label was established with its first release, "Heaven Scent", in late 1999. John continues to remix and produce music while running the Bedrock Records label and a successful weekly radio show on KISS-100 FM in the UK.

A much renowned DJ and production figure in trance and progressive circles, Sasha was born in 1969 in North Wales UK. Became famous in the late 80's and early 90's for residencies at clubs like Shelly's, the Hacienda, and most notably Renaissance. At Renaissance, formed a now-famous DJ partnership with John Digweed which continues to the present day.

The Essential Mix is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 - 2:00 AM UK time on Saturday morning. Originally broadcast on 30 October 1993, the Essential Mix features contemporary DJs and music producers of electronic dance music. The show has been presented since its inception by Pete Tong and features an uninterrupted two-hour mix from a different artist each week, overlaid with occasional continuity announcements delivered by Tong. With a broadcast run in excess of 25 years, the Essential Mix is one of the longest-running programmes in the current BBC Radio 1 schedule, and is one of very few Radio 1 shows which is not broadcast live.

Hey, Gareth here, I'm a graphic designer who start designing for clubs, parties, and labels in the late 90s. Back then, mix CDs were the holy grail of both design and music. I loved them.

But I wasn't the only one, mix cds were the soundtracks of our nights, our days, our afterparties and lives, for everyone. Yet in today's internet age, the art form has been lost (or just changed) to 2-3 hour online mixes and streaming videos, which just don't create the same magic your CD collection did. Just 60 minutes of music and incredible artwork.

The Classic Mix CD Series celebrates these discs, their soundtrack, their box art and your memories. We hope you enjoy it.
