Once again mega happy to have another musical heavyweight selector, friend and fellow north easterner get involved with the podcasts. None other than Newcastle's Stu Hedley. We met around 2003/4 via the NorthEastClubLife chat board (which was essentially one big group of mates from the entire region chatting shit and putting on nights)and through the much loved club-night Habit which we both helped out with music and design. Rubbing shoulders with some of the best DJs in the world, occasionally doing together and enjoying various, daft nights out around the city. Great times indeed.

Newcastle born and bred, he moved to Brighton 5 years ago and has been collecting music and dj'ing at parties, bars, clubs and BBQs for about 25 years. His tastes cover a broad range including jazz, disco, house, boogie, drum and bass and techno and he's always keen to mix new discoveries and genres in with the old.

Hey, Gareth here, I'm a graphic designer who start designing for clubs, parties, and labels in the late 90s. Back then, mix CDs were the holy grail of both design and music. I loved them.

But I wasn't the only one, mix cds were the soundtracks of our nights, our days, our afterparties and lives, for everyone. Yet in today's internet age, the art form has been lost (or just changed) to 2-3 hour online mixes and streaming videos, which just don't create the same magic your CD collection did. Just 60 minutes of music and incredible artwork.

The Classic Mix CD Series celebrates these discs, their soundtrack, their box art and your memories. We hope you enjoy it.

About Gareth:
Digital creative type, gamer, music lover and occasional DJ. Currently living between Dubai & Seoul after setting sail from Sunderland in 2010.
