About the CD:
I was always aware of Bukem, another DJ who managed to make underground rumblings to the listeners of the British dance scene without  us seemingly knowing who they even were... we just knew about them anyway.  immediately fell in love with this CD once Makoto's 'Inside Your Love' rolled in with MC Conrad's silky smooth mc'ing riding over the top. I'd always loved drum and bass from a distance, but from hearing that track... I was forever a massive fan. I bought into the Good Looking label, bought alot of old releases, all the mix cd's and then fell in love with Bukem's downtempo sister label 'Cookin Records'. This influence was one of the main sounds of my early vinyl days and has gone on to educate and delight for another decade and more. Play it loud, ride the groove, feel the bass. BUKEM!

Ross Tiefenthaler is a Boston-based drum & bass DJ who once owned and operated the last all-DnB vinyl shop in the US, Trainspotters Music (2008-2013). His DJ sets bring the soul to the front in an eclectic blend of styles that connects with everyone on the dance floor--from the diehard junglists by the bass bins to the casual music fans who just wandered in off the street.

I was raving in the 90's and I have never stopped dancing or listening to dance music. It's good for working out, house work, cooking, gardening, driving tunes, and for making love to. If it wasn't for the music, I don't know what I'd do!

Hey, Gareth here, I'm a graphic designer who start designing for clubs, parties, and labels in the late 90s. Back then, mix CDs were the holy grail of both design and music. I loved them.

But I wasn't the only one, mix cds were the soundtracks of our nights, our days, our afterparties and lives, for everyone. Yet in today's internet age, the art form has been lost (or just changed) to 2-3 hour online mixes and streaming videos, which just don't create the same magic your CD collection did. Just 60 minutes of music and incredible artwork.

The Classic Mix CD Series celebrates these discs, their soundtrack, their box art and your memories. We hope you enjoy it.
