The Zen parties in Orlando, FL in the early 90's demonstrated how massive the rave scene had become. Incredible DJ lineups, full live acts at massive fairground venues packed with rave kids made for special nights.  Some were lucky enough to keep the party going like this excellent after party DJ'd by none other than Sasha himself.  

A full 6 hrs of progressive, moody, loved up house in the early morning of labor day 1996. Over 60 tracks in all!

I think I do a mix on average once every two or three years. I really oughta do more but it's what I've always said.....

HEARING a mix from me doesn't compare to actually seeing me live IN ACTION.... Because DJing is a performance for me - much like acting. 

(This mix was purely recorded today to test out RekordboxDJ's recording facility. I haven't bothered with levels or actually doing a decent job. Gee, I'm really selling it well. Anyway, enjoy the choons).

Hey, Gareth here, I'm a graphic designer who start designing for clubs, parties, and labels in the late 90s. Back then, mix CDs were the holy grail of both design and music. I loved them.

But I wasn't the only one, mix cds were the soundtracks of our nights, our days, our afterparties and lives, for everyone. Yet in today's internet age, the art form has been lost (or just changed) to 2-3 hour online mixes and streaming videos, which just don't create the same magic your CD collection did. Just 60 minutes of music and incredible artwork.

The Classic Mix CD Series celebrates these discs, their soundtrack, their box art and your memories. We hope you enjoy it.

Digital creative type, gamer, music lover and occasional DJ. Currently living between Dubai & Seoul after setting sail from Sunderland in 2010. As a young designer, club and music culture was the driving force for his work, producing artwork for local club nights and record labels in the North East of England.
