Four our 13th podcast, we are super happy to host Brooklyn-based artist, Jacob Long aka Earthen Sea! 
His droney ambient, glacial dub-techno and beat tape inspired glitchy downtempo sounds had already gained the likes of labels such as Other People, Silent Season, Kranky or more recently Huinali Recordings & Mysteries of the Deep.  The selector DJ aims to tie together a number of different tangents of musical interest into a coherent audio journey. He offered us a deep journey into Ambient, Dub & percussive elements. For the 8th Drone Day, on the 29th May 2021, Transience invited a couple of past guests, Ligovskoï and Valentino Mora, and close comrade and drone aficionado, Paul Josef, to share the joy of droning. Transience host, Lou Drago, and guests Valentino Mora and Paul Josef all took the opportunity to play their first live sets on this occasion. The guests were already familiar with Transience’s aim of offering relief from neoliberal anxieties, and this desire is reflected in their musical outputs – on this night and in general. We hope you enjoy the journey through the four soundscapes and the story they collectively weave. The sets have been uploaded individually, but in the order they were presented on the night. We highly recommend listening on headphones or good speakers from a horizontal-ish position.

As a devotee of nature, Atoloi explores sound creating a mellow amalgam of layers using echoing synths, processed field recordings, and self-created samples; all mixed in a lysergic experience of heavy-grained noises and evocative instrumental compositions.

Not sticking only to club-oriented sonorities, instead, his productions and mixes search for other depths, in which the listener can get lost in a dense journey with no boundaries, in between the realms of dance and meditation.

Smooth transitions and a non-linear style are to be expected from this exquisite selection.

On november 21st, Accents records will return with a split LP by Teriak and Saïph: a rich blend of experimental and functional tracks, ranging from spaced-out ambient to banging techno.
The A side by Teriak, half of Subterrean and modular enthusiast, is a shamanic-like initiation to the expressive forces of modular tones, a singular piece of hallucinogenic ambient music that plays with phasing and stratification, layering acid patterns, weeping synths and warped chants to induce an hypnosis state.
The B side by Saïph, a young producer who released an EP on ARTS this year, is a more explicit evocation of dancing rites and nocturnal ceremonies, with a particular focus on sound design details. Through the 4 tracks, Saiph delivers different approaches to the soundtrack of inner euphoria and synchronized mutual bliss. With these heavy rolling kick drums, bold nervous basslines and crackling rhythms, he continues to refine his own signature for our growing pleasure.
This will be available on our bandcamp, digital and physical with a limited edition cassette. The split LP format and the DIY release process are a great way for us to pursue our mission : support the most exciting and unsung artists of our scene and to curate and release their work under the best possible form.

Donato Dozzy, Marco Shuttle and Ultrastation are among the names on these great remix package on the trustworthy SoHaSo label. After two well received EP's -Laren and ZL2- Bas Dobbelaer and Vand asked a few like-minded spirits to reset the dials of some of their best work. With their melancholic, melodic and highly detailed techno-infused productions, the two Dutch producers carved a name for themselves over the last four years.

Italian producer Donato Dozzy takes Transit (a track from 2019) into a lush, green forrest. Where dew water is still dripping from the trees while string-like melodies slowly swirl around them. Beautiful stuff.

Gal Tsadok-Hai takes a similar path, though his take on Gateway to Gaia is a bit gloomier. Dusk is setting in and so is melancholia.

Same goes for Marco Shuttles version of Reflect, a track from 2021. The London-based Italian producer left out kickdrums and basslines, settling instead for a feverish percussion-infused meditation.

Once on the flipside, the club vibe truly kicks in. With a minimalist, bassline heavy remix by Shoal of Story of Blade and an equally effective techno remake from Ultrastation, who turns Runner into a hypnotic peak time monster.

Happy to welcome Josephine' Soundscapes aka @machines-desirantes to our mix series! Jose Salas is an audiovisual creator and active cultural promoter in Madrid. As a DJ, or selector, he always works with a mixture of research from the past with a strong commitment to the present. He is currently part of the collectives a_mal_gam_a and CALMA, both working in the Spanish underground electronic scene. He also hosts a radio show called "Campos de Marte" on @radio-relativa, focused on experimentation in music.

This mix is a beautiful mixture of downtempo beats, acid synths and trippy melodies that builds up beautifully over 1h40. It's as he calls it, a "Machine Desirante" coming to life :)
