The 29th vurt podcast features a DJ set by Feral, a deep techno specialist from Rome, Italy. As one of the earliest members of Hypnus Records, Feral, who is considered to have essentially embody the spirit of deep techno, is taking a step further with his new vision, recently founded his label Aube Rouge.

Feral’s affinity for the shamanic calls of the tribal drum have led him across the world to discover and nurture his defining sound. Finding comfort in the solitude of his studio, Feral’s visions emerge in the crepusular hours of his native city, Rome. Into The Abyss #027 | Cauê

Spending the first part of his musical journey playing local underground clubs and afters in southern Brazil,Cauê made himself a name first and foremost as a talented DJ in the brazilian underground scene. After moving to London he soon formed an unshakeable bond with vinyls and started his first steps into producing music, falling more and more deeply into his devotion to create transformative hypnotic journeys to alter states of mind. Fast-forward 10 years and he's making a solid name for himself in the local London scene, and has released his debut EP on none other than Affin Records, followed by releases on labels like Circular Limited and KVLTO records, presenting a sound with deep foundations and atmospheres with a great driving direct to the dance floor.

His music dives you into a hypnotic atmosphere, sometimes with epic or dramatic accents.

From Deep and Mental techno to some more hypnotic and trippy textures, Svreca offers us a unique sonic journey, where precision meets emotion, guiding the listener through shadowy beats and abstract sound, designed for a long introspective travel.

Few artists can match the influence that Enrique Mena, AKA Svreca, and his label Semantica have had on contemporary techno. With over 20 years in the DJ booth, 200-plus releases on the label and some acclaimed original productions and remixes, Svreca has spearheaded techno’s second generation, helping maintain Madrid as an international hub for deep and driving sounds. 

As a DJ, Svreca draws from a wide sonic palette that includes noise, dub, avant-garde electronics, electro and, of course, techno. First, it was luminaries like Angel Molina and Oscar Mulero that inspired him; since then he has made it his mission to survey the scene and connect with its most original artists. He funnels these influences into a powerful techno sound for body and mind: immersive, textural and rhythmically complex. Whether in an open-air festival setting or a blistering, pitch-back basement, Svreca’s sets—always delivered with technical precision—are a psychedelic, physical experience. 

His sets are also inextricably linked to Semantica. It’s a two way relationship: the label has become a consistently excellent breeding ground for new talent, as well as home to some of techno’s finest artists. Equally, Svreca draws inspiration from shared moments on a dance floor to fuel the label’s creative direction. From its austere aesthetic (designed by Mena himself) to its boundless exploration of new formats, Semantica encapsulates the heady spirit of experimental techno. 

Across all Svreca's means of expression, one thing is a constant: the music comes first. Less talking, more doing. It’s a formula he has stood by, and delivered the quality of music needed to back it up.

Vitaliy Dubree’s new album Ratio et Caritas finds the Chernogolovka-based producer stepping outside his familiar dub techno framework into a more exploratory electronic space. Known for his releases on Leipzig’s Insectorama, Dubree shifts focus here toward intelligent electronica with clear traces of Berlin School sequencing and electro-inspired rhythm design. The record explores the balance between structure and emotion, through precise sound design, pulsing low-end movement, and melodic phrasing that gradually builds narrative tension.

While still grounded in the spacious atmospheres and delay drenched textures of dub, Ratio et Caritas feels more introspective and narrative driven than Dubree’s earlier output. Each track carries subtle references to Soviet era sci-fi films, weaving archival fragments into the mix to create a sense of cultural memory and modest futurism. The result is an album that bridges studio precision with emotional resonance, less a functional dance record, more a focused study in texture, pacing, and the intersection of human and cosmic scale.

Luigi has emerged as one of the key figues of the italian deep techno scene since his first releases on Hypnus Records in 2014. Since then his sound has only become more elaborated.
