This meditation is on developing the skill of open awareness, of mindfulness in our environment of sounds, sights, smells, tastes and feelings. This is an important practice in honing our ability to be in the world in a nonjudgmental, present way.

Open Awareness Meditation

This is a 5-minute exercise to simply just pause and notice your breath, observing any emotion that you might be feeling in your body. Just bringing awareness to a feeling helps to release any "false stories" connected to the emotion.

When we have a negative thought/feeling, we often embody this in our body and thought. The RAIN acronym – “recognition, acceptance, identification and non-identification” – is a powerful way to notice and separate from the emotion. This meditation will teach you about recognizing and labeling the emotion being felt in body to bring attention to it. Accepting that we are feeling something, rather than pushing it away, allows us to just take a moment to feel it. Identify where the feeling is in your body and explore what it feels like. Non-identification is just noticing that it’s there but not getting attached to it or creating more stories around it. We identify and then non-identify. 5-Minute "Pause and Notice" Meditation

This is a meditation and a writing exercise, so have writing materials nearby. In this guided imagery exercise, you will call into your mind a desire you have in your life, and “float” possible action steps toward making this desire a reality. You will then be guided to choose one that has the most flow and ease of energy, and that can be easily integrated into your life. You may be amazed at how helpful this is! 

Guided imagery is a powerful way to work with the subconscious mind and with any blocks to your healing and ideal future that might be present. Through the guidance of a facilitator's voice, you are led into the depths of the subconscious.

This exercise is adapted from one in the book Guided Imagery for Self-Healing by Dr. Martin Rossman.

Floating Action Steps: Guided Imagery Meditation

This is a 10-minute meditation to bring us into mindful awareness first of our bodies, through our inhale and exhale, and then into our external environment by being aware of sounds around us.

10-Minute Mindful Awareness Meditation

In this meditation, we have the opportunity to visualize and co-create our future self. This is a divine gift we have as humans - to create a vibration of how we want to feel in our lives. Writing it down after doing this meditation (see https://www.soulfulworkconsulting.com/resources for a Future Self writing tool) helps to make this a blueprint, like your "ordering a meal" at the restaurant of the universe! The next step is moving past any subconscious blocks (fears/doubts/worries) that will try to lower the vibration from finding you!
