Here's my live Hard Trance / Hard House closing set from the BabyBox at Ministry of Sound, for the Trance Sanctuary Meets Peach NYD party 2024. What a party it was, and such privilege to be part of such a star studded line up! Everyone was proper up for it and it was so much fun to follow on from Miles Gorphy's set which also tore up the room. Wow, last Saturday was certainly one for the books! 📖🔥 Over the last few days, I have been digesting just how amazing an event it was – phenomenal turnout 🙌, exceptional production 🎛️ and great music from everyone who played 🎧💥.

Now we all know that I do love my music from soundtracks and scores 🎼🎥 and they could be from anywhere – be it a film 🎬, tv 📺, documentary 🎞️, musical 🎭, animation 🧙‍♂️, videogames 🎮 – you name it, if it has that spark for captivating a dancefloor in the name of Trance 💃🕺, I will always be invested 💯.

Imagine having in excess of 200 tracks for this unique set 🎵🧠, the majority of which I would class as being A-grade 💎 and having to whittle it down to 17 on the day! A fresh challenge which I love to embrace 💪🎚️. To tell you the truth, I really did not know what to expect 🤷‍♂️ because delivering a specialist set of this magnitude LIVE ⚡, had not been done before and there is always the risk in the back of your mind that it might not be well-received 🤞.

Needless to say, it all came together 💫 and felt like stepping into the soundtrack of a film that hadn’t been made yet 🎞️✨ – from the powerful opening of Interstellar 🚀, the haunting elegance of Dune 🏜️, the creeping tension of The Exorcist 👻, the epic drive of The Da Vinci Code 🧬, to nostalgic hits like Stranger Things 🌌, Star Wars lightsaber vibes ⚔️, and finally those iconic end credits from Blade Runner 🤖... the emotional ride was very real!!! 😭💓

I am beyond proud of the result – and even more grateful 🙏 to our incredible REBOOTED following who danced 💃, celebrated 🎉 and embraced every beat of the journey. You brought it to life!! 🌟🔥

The sun was blazing, the beats were pounding and Nottingham was on fire (not literally, thankfully) as the LostWeekend took over the banks of the River Trent! This incredible all-day festival brought together some of the biggest names in the scene and it was an absolute treat to step behind the decks and inject some Trance magic on the Insomniacz REBOOTED stage.

This one was special and was more than just a set – it was a moment. The vibe was pure euphoria, and the Insomniacz and REBOOTED brands, once again raised the bar. My set was crafted with care – a potent blend of original Trance classics, fresh reworks and a few long-lost forgotten gems pulled from the archives to keep the energy riding high and the crowd completely locked in.

The atmosphere? Exuberant. The production? Top shelf. The crowd? Unstoppable. Seeing so many familiar faces and new fans alike coming together to lose themselves in the music reminded me of why we do what we do – to create lasting memories through the power of Trance.

Here’s my bouncy, peak-time take on Richard Durand & Christina Novelli – “Save You”, channeling the drive and euphoria of Cold Blue’s trance remix. I kept the heart-on-sleeve vocals front and centre, layered in rolling bass, tight percussion and uplifting leads, and pushed the energy for those hands-in-the-air moments.

Richard Durand & Christina Novelli – Save You (KrisP Remix)

Custard is a DJ who mixes across the broad spectrum of house, trance & techno. From prog house, trance & techno, to house party bangers, through to alternative & uplifting trance, and up to the banging side hard trance/house and acid techno.

Past DJ residencies include Planet Angel, Boundless and Chilled in a Field Festival.

As a producer he is 1/3 of the Nexus 3 collaboration with the uplifting big room trance releases 'State of Wonder and 'Last Flight' on Discover Records, plus remix duty on Activa's 'Temper' on the To the Point remixed album. 

He's also 1/2 of the Payoff Brothers collaboration; making whatever bootlegs they fancy in any genre. Whether it's fixing a broken remix to make something that makes sense, remaking really old tracks to bring the production up-to-date to make them playable next to modern tracks, or making bootleg remixes that are begging to exist.
