Memories knelt at
The guillotine.

I felt small and weak,
Kissing your cheek.
When I said goodbye,
You rolled your eyes-
And i cried
On the drive home.

Clipped my ankles on the way to school
Passed a pigeon laying on its side
Blood was dripping from its beak
As it sleeps eyes open wide

We walked down along the cobbled streets
Getting blisters on our feet
Till our knees went weak
I stopped two steps early just to feel the sun
