So as we reach our 50th Guest Mix in our quest to help support people struggling with their mental health through fantastic music and fantastic DJs, we thought it would only be fair if our founder Ben Banjo Field took the honours on this one!

Ben hails from Costa Del Devon and now resides in Cardiff.

He has a radio residency with the amazing Broke Fm, along with many guest Mixes for the likes of House Jet Radio, Ibiza Stardust Radio, Collective Groove, Love Summer Radio & Daydream Disco to mention a few.

He's released several tracks on the high flying Groovy Firehorse 66 record label, and has done remixes for artists such as Jodie Weston & Sarah Brown, with more tunes to come later this year!

And most recently he has started a Residency at one of Cardiff's best venues, the Corporation Yard.

Ben Banjo Field - The Discography Lessons # 50

Black Light Disco plunged into the MyhouseRadio.fm airwaves with another Monday-busting jamboree of sonic soothers. 

This week, our dynamic duo Pookie Knight took the helm of the BLD bridge for a typically spectacular opening hour of disco delights. The lads outdid themselves with a first half that massaged the cranium in ways you won't have ever thought were possible. 

For the second half of the show we were delighted to welcome a very special guest - DJ and producer extraordinaire, Ben Banjo Field! 

Hailing from Costa Del Devon and now residing in Cardiff, Ben Banjo Field has always had a passion for music. After suffering a cardiac arrest back in 2011, his friends and family clubbed together to get him an iPad to help him through the coming months in hospital. He downloaded a DJ app and the power of music helped him recover and saw him through the tough times.

As the creator of the “Beach Bar Beats” brand Ben is prolific in producing fresh & uplifting summer house mixtapes, and he has since branched into more funky, disco vibes. Beach Bar Beats have now racked up more than 50k views on youtube.

Ben can be found DJ'ing in some of Cardiff’s prestigious night spots including Kuku, Vanilla Rooms & Pryzm. More recently he landed a residency at one of Cardiff's newest & most trendy hot spots, the Corporation Yard.

During the lockdowns of 2020 he created “The Discography Lessons” to help promote overcoming mental health through music. The project has been support by DJ's from all over the world including Lenny Fontana, Ladies From Mars, Michael Gray, Doctor Feelgood, Da Lukas & Yam Who?
Ben has also turned his hand to music production, with 3 tracks signed to German record label Groovy Firehorse 66 and plenty more tracks in the pipeline. You can hear his “Drive Time Disco” show on the airwaves every friday at 4pm on Broke FM, where he has been a resident DJ for the last 12 months.

Jisco Dazz - Slap That Bass (Stephen Richards Remix)

Get Down Edits founder Darren 'Dazz' Dalton dons his solo Jisco Dazz alias for a fine outing on his own imprint. He's in sample-rich original production mode on 'Slap That Bass', adding Wurtlitzer style organ licks, jaunty pianos, dreamy chords and eyes-closed female vocal samples to a weighty bassline and smooth deep house bass. The accompanying remix package is pleasingly solid too. Dalton's Get Down Edits project delivers a more low-slung, funk-fuelled house revision that makes more of the killer bassline and vocal samples, before Noden slaps down (sorry) a rolling dub disco-meets-deep house rework and Stephen Richards gives the track a sunnier and more soulful garage-house feel.
