Following the great reception to the label's first instalment, In-Reach Records is back with another three hard hitting and high-end Drum & Bass tracks for all heads to enjoy. The provider of this trio of sumptuous rollers is a man with a deep knowledge and passion for the Jungle / Drum & Bass scene - Sicknote.

The number kicks off with pulsating drum bursts fading in and out of the intro leading into a pause in the breaks and a definite calm before the storm. The twisting bass line sets the track off and it's quickly joined with the unruly drum break to create a tempestuous meld of elements that could inject a shot of life into even the most tranquil of ravers.

Howitzer fires off two high-powered, 160bpm weapons for Sweetbox, returning to the Diffrent Music sister label for his second solo outing, after the success of last summer’s ‘Blackjacks’.

Lead track ‘Lemonhead’ rains down a fiery combination of militant drumwork and oppressive bass stabs. There’s an atmospheric tension and relentless quality to this one that’ll have ravers hooked from the first stomp of the kick drum to the outro’s last smouldering crackle.

‘Foundry’ takes a similar sound palette but approaches via a more sleuthy route. Sludgy low-end pulses meet a plodding beat, with each mean step chained together by the kind of yawning groove that can’t fail to have shoulders dropping in the dance.

Both tracks will be available digitally from Friday 22nd November, with a super limited run of 10” pressings available at the Clashmouth Drum & Bass Label Market on Saturday 9th November

Enjoy is a long time music enthusiast with a long standing experience in every field connected to jungle and drum and bass: djing, organising parties and producing. His tastes are very refined and you can hear that in its musical output, clearly influenced by jazz, soul, jungle and intelligent drum and bass.
“Cases” is a beautiful work of drum patterns expertly processed and combined with pads and basses into a captivating track, enriched by female vocals and jazzy trumpets.
“Memoirs” is an atmospheric piece of work that will lead you in to a trip made of old school breaks, and ambiences that will lead you to the golden era of drum and bass with the production quality of 2020.

'Let's say it all started in 1989, I went from a young piano student to an acid house lover in an instant.
The sound of Pacific State and Chime had me seduced and I thought that the only intelligent thing to do was to deepen ... well I am still deepening;) '
The continuous thirst for knowledge brought him into contact with an infinite number of styles and
musical genres, this feature makes his DJ sets eclectic and unpredictable:
from jazz to funk to hip hop to house to experimental to techno to breakbeat up to the jungle / drum & bass sounds that distinguish him for its refinement and originality.
Over the years this passion has led him to play in numerous clubs, raves and festivals in Italy, Croatia, Ireland, United Kingdom and Spain.
In 2007 with Maxist and Piero Vit (TrickBag Crew) he created Bleep, the only one night in Italy to offer jungle and drum'n’bass without compromises or easy commercial shortcuts, welcoming DJs of the likes of:
Fanu, Andy Skopes, Code, Nucleus, Chris Inperspective, Macc, Fracture & Neptune, Equinox, dgHon, Alite, Ricky Force, Dj Trax and Paradox.
As a producer he took his first steps in the late 90s with the Ezzthetic collective with which in 2004 he obtained the release of 'E Variations' on legendary LTJ Bukem’s Good Looking Records.
In 2010 the double official debut arrived on the prestigious Irish label Subtle Audio: 'The Crook' as a soloist and 'Taking Seriously' as The Blunt Needles with his partner in life and crimes: Dani.
Hence a series of releases for the English Omni Music with which he establishes a collaboration that will lead in 2013 to his first solo album 'Layering Errors' and in 2014 to 'Symbiosis' with Omni Music boss Eschaton.
In the following years he released mainly on vinyl for Bustle Beats, Subtle Audio, Omni Music, Transmute and Next Phase and towards the end of 2017 the release 'Just a Vibe / Fragile' on AKO Beatz marks an important milestone for his journey, the start of an active collaboration with one of his idols: DJ Stretch.
The moment is topical also because it allows him, only a year later, to realize the dream of a lifetime: having a release on the label that has influenced and inspired him the most, we are talking about Reinforced Records!
At the end of 2018, as a definitive consolidation of years of work and sound research, the second solo album 'Anger & Control' is released on Bustle Beats.
2019 was completely dedicated to the production for AKO and its 25th anniversary of 2020, in particular way with a new project with DJ Stretch called The Last Ronin... Stay tuned for more Enjoy beats.

It’s been only a few months since I was last interviewing Sam AKA Missing. Our relationship came about via chance. Sam was working in a Bournemouth studio alongside Bernie AKA Mr. Time from Tearin Vinyl. I was already chatting to Bernie about re-releasing some of the Tearin back catalogue as Ellis Dee had introduced us. So when myself and Sam linked, I knew destiny was mapping out a new direction and a repress of Sam’s self-released 1994 banger ‘Missing - Volume One’ was needed on Vinyl Fanatiks. As things do, a natural progression continued, with conversations steering towards releasing some vinyl together. Sam already had the vehicle, Sub System Recordings, which he had released a digital only track on a few years previous. Perfect. Earlier this year we launched the vinyl arm of the label to huge success but more material was required and consequently a new story unfolded, one that Sam describes to me;

“Firstly, I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported the last Sub System releases which were a complete sell out” Sam Missing recounts. “That was at the start of lockdown and I am sure like many it’s been a surreal year but even with the clubs currently closed, the music must go on!  So here we are, launching the next three Sub System releases under the banner ‘Three From ‘93’.  Like most of our projects, these releases were formed through chance encounters and the very few degrees of separation that seem to exist in the jungle universe!  It wasn’t clear until the end of the project that we realised there was a very clear direction these releases had gravitated to, and that was the foundation year of 1993! Let me explain…” 

“Next we come on to Jimmy... if you go back to the early 90’s there were a bunch of ‘name tracks’ in jungle; Johnny Jungle, Scottie and of course Ricky! R-I-C-K-Y!!!” Missing had been keen to bring back the names! I mean, who can forget their favourite ‘name’ track? Any time you hear that name said or shouted down the street you automatically started reciting that tune in your head. But the list of names was short and another one was needed, homage had to be paid, and a fresh name added to the exclusive collective. ‘Jimmy’ was born. Sam drops science “I often think that in the original jungle era we weren’t scared to drop in a leftfield sample, those quirky, whimsical touches often blew up and inspired others. We took from all genres of music, video games and definitely film and TV samples. Tracks had personality, even as far as having names! I wanted to bring that vibe back and also update the dark side vibe of ‘93.  I had been searching for another name track inspiration but nothing had caught me.  Then a few weeks into lockdown I found the perfect vocal and ‘Jimmy’ was born. I gave a copy to Bailey who dropped it on his live sets including the Ram House Party. He was vibing on it and pulled up a rewind which was a great accolade. I was well happy. Anyway, the idea for the track was from the 90’s era but the track had crisp modern beats so it definitely made sense to have it reimagined into a traditional jungle style banger. Enter Lavery...  Tom Lavery is too young to have experienced the darkside era first time around but he is definitely one of the top producers in the scene championing the 90’s jungle and hardcore sound.  He was already on my radar for a remix on Sub System and I really wanted him to remix this tune and thankfully he agreed. I have to say he certainly came correct on this one, channeling the Soul Pride break adding sliced up Amen vibes into a fresh darkside smasher. Brutal and its 1993 all over!”

Missing 'Jimmy' - SSR005

Deviant Audio welcomes the return of Johney for a sub-heavy 4-track EP featuring half-time 170 BPM numbers, dubstep as well as an amen tear out jungle track.

For those new to the name, Johney hails from Slovakia and currently resides in Brno, Czech Republic.

He began his production journey shortly after falling for the sub-heavy sounds of dubstep in 2009. His sound is a blend of his many influences from drum & bass, juke and dubstep.

Past releases on Ground Mass, Samsara Beats and Sub Garden. He’s an active member of the Soul Ex Machina collective from Brno, pushing the deeper side of drum and bass and dubstep through their events and label.
