This mix is a heartfelt tribute to the DJs who shaped my journey through the vibrant nightlife of New York City, from the pulsating beats of the early 70s to the relentless grooves of the late 90s. Each track echoes memories of nights spent in dimly lit clubs, the air thick with anticipation, as legendary DJs spun records that transported us to another world. While the sound may have evolved over the years, new productions bringing fresh interpretations, many of the same lyrics and rhythms continue to reverberate in the underground scene. This collection captures those cherished reminiscences and the camaraderie forged on the dance floor with friends, fellow partygoers, and DJs alike.

As the fourth installment of my Empire State set, this mix was performed live in one outrageous session, stretching over eight exhilarating hours. There was no elaborate preparation; it was all about feeling the vibe and allowing the spirit of the moment to guide my selections. Like the old days, the set concluded around 8 a.m., a euphoric end to an all-night odyssey where every note shared was a connection to the past. Losing myself in the music, much like a sermon from a pulpit. I aim to inspire listeners to surrender to the experience, letting the rhythm wash over them and elevate their mind, body, and soul.

In this musical journey, I invite you to listen closely for the messages woven into the mix, subtle yet powerful reflections of life’s complexities. There’s raw honesty in the unfiltered sound, embracing the good, bad, and ugly that defines our shared human experience. Each track serves as a reminder of those legendary nights when we danced without a care, from slow, sultry grooves to the visceral energy of a full-blown sweat session. Together, let’s revel in these extended throwback sounds that inspire joy and keep the party alive long after the last record has spun.

I'm a person who loves music and creating mixes of full-length songs for friends along my travels. I like to spin with no setup, just playing off the top of my head while in the moment.  

Currently, I am sharing the mixes with my long-time friends and a new audience. I come from listening to the great DJs at the Gallery, The Garage, The Loft, The Shelter, Zanzibar, The World, The Tunnel (early years), Baseline, Funhouse, The Fever, Bonds International, 1018, on WBLS (early 80's), and too many street parties to mention.  These were the times when people danced (worked it out) all night into the morning and not just bobbed side to side. 

My love for music started in the early 70s as a way to channel my energy in a more positive direction.  Music became my teacher about life's many situations. I gleaned a lot from music, which became a significant part of my lifestyle. Later my older brother started me DJing for private parties in NYC.  

All that training led me to DJing in my travels. Traveling since 1981, I visited 49% of this big blue marble sharing the NYC flavor.  This was when most NYC DJs didn't venture outside of the tri-state area making me a unique commodity in my travels to Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, the Middle East, and too many more places to mention here.  None of these nights would have been as memorable if it wasn't for the support of my many friends worldwide!  All of you should stand up now and take a well-deserved bow!

I have DJ'd as the recording media changed through the years from 8-track, reel to reel, cassettes, DAT, Minidisk, CD, MP3, and so on ... This site is just a place to share my music of live club sessions (typically 5-8 straight hours of DJing) with my long time friends who have asked for me to convert their analog recordings to digital format for old time sake. You also get to experience my evolutionary growth in this field.

My humble mixes have the occasional recorded mistakes (record skips, rough mixes, etc.). This is unavoidable when recording live shows directly to the media as I honed my skills through the years. There are not any post-production corrections in the work, you hear the good, the bad, and the ugly mixes. 

All mixes were recorded live, mixes earlier than 2001 went direct to magnetic tape, and after 2001 were digitally captured while staying true to the music, and the dancers' way of life, as my mind's eye feels about the mix at that place in time.  I also made all attempts to pay respect to the artists who created the sound. 

The venue is my church, the DJ booth is my pulpit, and the music is my sermon.  Come on in and listen as I pour out my heart and preach!

We ride, with new team members joining each year. Riders of all experience levels, from the novice (I haven’t ridden a bike in 2+ years) to more experienced riders. We support each other to meet our individual riding goals and provide a positive team experience so everyone has fun while also building our team.

We ride for fun and camaraderie! We are a group of people interested in biking for fun, exercise, and self improvement. Our members get together informally to ride the bike trails and roads in different areas of Orlando.

We also ride for those who cannot. A smart man once said: “Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile” – Albert Einstein.
