Proto Idiot are a stupid stomping garage rock three piece from the cosmopolitan garden city of Manchester. They sound like kids in a remedial catch up class trying to cover The Kinks, with a bit of Soft Boys and TV Personalities thrown in for fun. 

Not content with already being the most successful and famous band in the world ever they've gone and recorded a super dooper new LP FOR DUMMIES, which is coming out on Bad Paintings. Recorded for 20p and a can of spam it is 35 minutes of looney tunes, merry melodies and occasional existential crises. 

Leading labels like Trouble in Mind, Slovenly and OddBox have put out their past LPs, with the band touring across Europe and the US. The group combines the superstar guitar grooves of Andrew Anderson, the bong-rattling bass lines of Michael Floyd Seal and the tuneful trap tapping of Callum Trent D'Arley. 

Mastered and made listenable by Mikey Young from Eddy Current Suppression Ring/Total Control, its 13 tracks take in all styles of music from the 60s beat of Idiot Blues to boneheaded boogie woogie classic If At First You Don't Succeed Try Failing. Murph & The Gazorpos are likely the UK’s finest purveyors of power pop right now, I mean there must be tonnes of bands out there doing it but none are nailing the sound quite like these guys. There’s a cartoon like energy and enthusiasm to them that has their tunes bursting at the seams. When you listen to the EP it’s almost like the songs are trying to escape their analogue confines. Imagine Elvis Costello on speed and you’re starting to get there. Super Fan are thrilled to be releasing ‘A Little Reaction’ this October and are sure that you’ll find it just as infectious as we do. 

The Gazorpos is the latest project of Charlie Murphy who is best known for being one third of much loved Falmouth punk band The Red Cords. Earlier in the year we stumbled upon Charlie’s DIY hit ‘I Wana Be (Someone Else)’ and instantly started spinning it on our radio show. Sounding like a lost 70s hit or something straight outta the Burger catalogue we were surprised to learn he was a dude in his twenties living on our own back doorstep in Cornwall. His next incarnation would be Murph & The Gazorpos, a self released EP earlier this year on his own Nerve Centre label came and quickly sold out. The new EP will be available in an edition of just 30(X-Ray style)cassettes each packaged with a micro 5” vinyl of ‘You Did It’ backed with an unheard bonus track. Keep your eyes peeled for a pre-order in the next couple of weeks. The brilliantly executed art is a lino cut stamp by Dan Russell from The Hipshakes and the record was mastered by Dan E Brown (Glitterburst, Tomorrows Tulips). As you know, our releases sell out pretty quick and are limited to one copy per household so be sure to stay tuned by following us on the usual social media platforms. Murph & The Gazorpos will be touring the UK later this year.
