This track might test the patience of listeners, as it is yet another iteration of the same idea. However, each version brings a new arrangement and consistently reaches a higher level of quality. The journey of refining this piece has taken me through many phases—some versions were more dynamic and hypnotic, others felt raw and unpolished. Yet, with each iteration, I moved closer to the quality I truly wish to share with you.

It is my deep respect for you, my listeners, that drives me to create a version that feels fresh, distinct, and genuinely good—one that reaches a more professional level. Ultimately, however, the true judgment belongs to the audience.

In an era where music can be generated with a single click, the effort I pour into this uneven battle feels even more valuable. Each step in this process teaches me something new, and my curiosity never fades. With each new recording, I embrace increasingly advanced and demanding sound mixing techniques, allowing me to refine my artistry and push the boundaries of quality. Because of that, I can release new recordings with confidence—whether they are fresh creations or improved versions of earlier ideas.

Lost In Dreams

Well hello… A new song, with a new instrument. A pawnshop Ukulele. Ha. What a fun instrument to play. Just had to. A few simple Uke chords, some acoustic guitar soloing, and a tale of sailing the ocean as a metaphor for life. And yes, lyrically I was talking with a seagull. And just so you know I have gotten really good at ‘talking’ with birds. I can click talk like a grackle, whisper whistle like a robin, whistle talk a curious melody like a chickadee, among others. Still working on my duck call. Ha… Years ago, I remember annoying some people at a party with this wooden duck call my buddy had. So maybe a future song about birds? And right outside my door there are some interesting avian dynamics between the grackles and robins nesting in the spruce trees. They argue every day, about territory and invasion of their personal space, but when danger appears, like a hawk or cat, they come together in unison to fend off the threat. In the natural biology of things, humans haven’t fallen too far from that spruce tree. Anyway, robins do not like the dark. They anxiously chatter with loud worry chirping amongst themselves at dusk, and create a chorus melody of happy song at dawn. With me being a late sleeper, their morning serenades can be quite bothersome at 4:30AM. A lesson for me though, as at times I am not so welcoming as I wakeup to another frenetic global morning. Anyway, birds and their enthusiastic singing far outpaces my own. Ha. There are many other birds here, but I will save that for another time. Hope you are well. Thanks for dropping by, Mark

Uke Chantey

This is actually the third version of the song. I felt the original idea I’d roughed out with the keyboard and computer could be more interesting. So I reworked the whole track again (twice) adding several ‘hooks’. These were some vocal ‘stabs’, some keyboard/synth riffs as well as writing ( what I hope ) is a more interesting bass line. I beefed up the drum section too. I hope the fun I had creating it is reflected in the overall vibe of the track. Having said all this, the question is: did it actually work?

I can't seem to put down the guitar now that I've picked it back up! Played around with layering some kind of simple repetitive loops to create a hypnotic atmosphere on this one.

Released on Paul’s wedding anniversary, the album serves as both an ode to the birth of his inner world and a reflection on the profound loss of his wife ~ the spark that gave rise to this paracosm. Spanning 15 tracks, including four with vocals, the record expands far beyond lofi conventions, weaving hip hop, drum’n’bass, breakbeat, and unexpected influences into a rich, emotional tapestry. Smooth atmospheres and cinematic textures balance with restless rhythms, creating a duality that mirrors grief and growth. Paul’s closest friend, @lampros_mak (aka Milo Maven), played a pivotal role in the instrumentalization, giving shape and depth where Paul’s limited instrumental skills left space for collaboration. The result is Pueblo Vista’s most ambitious and emotionally layered release to date ~ a deeply human album that drifts between pain, memory, and transcendence.
