In this session I had the opportunity to chat with Lauren Carson who is a mental health advocate and non profit leader. Lauren shares her battle with her own mental health issues growing up and how she stays healthy. Lauren shares her passion to educate others specifically girls within the black community by creating an organization called Black Girls Smile, Inc. She talks about her involvement within the Lee Thompson Young Foundation and their mission for spreading mental health knowledge within the community. Sherry Renee is a Milwaukee native. She works in a strategic role for an iconic fortune 500 company. Sherry Renee earned a bachelor’s degree from Marquette University and an MBA from The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater along with various other certifications. She is passionate about her community and loves to volunteer as giving is important to her. She loves knowledge, thought-provoking conversations, and most of all, she loves to laugh! When she is not involved in a business venture, you can catch her riding her Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
