The Forgotten CCXLI: 747

Initially inspired by the subcultural scene of his hometown of Lübeck, the young artist was strongly influenced by the predominant sound of the Leipzig techno scene. Especially the infamous Institut fuer Zukunft and its hypnotic and dissociative sound significantly formed his
distinctive style and quickly paved his way into the local scene.
Over the years his sonic palette grew and now reaches from soothing ambient and downtempo to dark and dissociative contemporary techno.

In 2017 Kontinum co-founded the collective Nebula and, after organising their first raves, the collective quickly found its way into Leipzig's club scene and managed to establish its own event series at Institut fuer Zukunft.

In addition to managing most of Nebula's musical affairs, Kontinum continues to steadily enhance his own remarkable sound which can already be listened to on his releases on labels such as The Gods Planet, Lowless and Agos.

Electric Indigo comenzó su carrera como DJ en Viena en 1989 y vivió en Berlín durante tres años [1993-1996] para trabajar en la legendaria tienda de discos Hard Wax. En 1998 fundó female:pression, la red transnacional de artistas femeninas, no binarias y transgénero de la música electrónica que fue galardonada con una mención de honor en el "Prix Ars Electronic" 2009.

Se ha presentado en 45 países de Europa, Asia y América, representando una inteligente y distinguida interpretación de la música techno y la música electrónica. Sus DJ-sets se caracterizan por una amplia variedad con una claridad de visión y un profundo conocimiento de la música y el arte de pinchar. Como compositora y música, crea música para espacios de conciertos y clubes, y ocasionalmente para obras de teatro y cortometrajes. En sus composiciones y presentaciones en vivo, enfatiza la ubicación espacial y las estructuras precisas de sonidos sutilmente elaborados, a menudo generados con síntesis granular. La República de Austria otorgó a Electric Indigo el "Kunstpreis Musik" 2020.

Sus composiciones se estrenaron en festivales como Wien Modern, CTM y Heroines of Sound. El álbum debut de Electric Indigo "5 1 1 5 9 3" salió en Imbalance Computer Music en 2018, su segundo álbum "Ferrum" fue lanzado en Editions Mego en marzo de 2020.

Electric Indigo ha recorrido infinitas cabinas de clubs, entre ellas las de Berghain, Tresor, Suicide Circus, Robert Johnson, Fuse, Gorod, Womb, Colours Studio, Razzmatazz, Moog, Ultraschall o Harry Klein. Hello friends!

Our guest for this new year special is Invite(@invite-1) (Tim van Paradijs). He doesn't need any big introduction because we assume that many techno fans around the world are familiar with his legendary and influential podcast series. Namely the “Invite’s Choice Podcast”. 

Tim’s work is one of our main influences for starting the Monument Podcast. We reminisce a few years back, gathering in our friends living room and anxiously listening to the latest episode of Invite’s Choice. The neighbors would complain about the loud music, but we didn’t care! Techno music was the first priority. When we discovered his podcast it was like a sense of coming home. The joy of getting access to great techno music is one that we would like to share with our listeners as well. 

Tim is a true DJ at heart, and for the listeners his passion for music translates through his performance. He is known for an eclectic selection of techno music that can keep audiences engaged and energized for the duration of his sets.

We are truly thankful for his contribution to our Podcast and wish our listeners a happy New Year!
