David Russell Lee is a British DJ, producer and Remixer Icon.

One of the first albums I ever bought on Vinyl in the 90’s was the “Can’t Get High Without You Compilation” And back then I actually thought the artist was really named Joey Negro. Not knowing then that Dave created the name using a mix of Pal Joey “Reach Up To Mars and J. Walter Negro “Shoot The Pump”. He thought at that time, the name Dave Lee was too boring against the likes of junior Vazquez, David Morales and Frankie Knuckles in the House Music Scene. 

Following the George Floyd movement in 2020 Dave Lee dropped the Joey Negro Moniker for good. 

Having such a huge Discography of music to choose from it was difficult for me to discard some amazing tracks. In the end I’ve chosen 40 tracks which mean the most and have the best memories for me, so sorry to my followers and listeners if your favourite tunes didn’t make the Final Cut.

Of course I have to say a huge thank you to Dave Lee for all his hard work, producing such incredible music for all these years. I can’t wait to hear you play live again and will look forward to all your future releases.

When i was 10 years old, the buzz around town was about a movie being filmed in the neighborhood and right down the block from my building at the time in Brooklyn. i didn't pay too much attention as i was doing what any normal kid my age did at the time : playing handball in the school yard, playing cocolevio (manhunt) and lighting up firecrackers.   Later on, the movie Saturday Night Fever came out and it's soundtrack was ALL over the radio, so i BEGGED my mom to buy me the album , so she did and i was VERY happy!   A few years later i finally had the opportunity to see the movie, that's when i realized that the part where they crash the car into a garage and fought on top of the pool table in the Movie, was on 43rd street and 12th ave!  MY OLD NEIGHBORHOOD!   Go Figure!  My intention was to create a tribute to the album that re-invigorated a genre after it was considered dead.  All the tracks are very close to the originals, remixed / re-edited by DJ/Producers found here on sound cloud, i have them their respect below in the track lists.  I really hope you enjoy it as much as i loved playing!
