After countless hours spent chopping up vinyl, laying down basslines, tweaking synthesizers and banging on drum pads I'm proud to present "I'm Gone". This album aims to bring back the soulful sounds of the past while maintaining a bass-heavy modern feel. I'm especially happy with two tracks on the album which feature my friend Willdabeast (of Snug Harbour and Michal Menert Big Band). Will laid down some soulful horns, flute and a few other instruments to take my sample-based beats to the next level. Los Angeles based producer Nick Alvarado and vocalist EVeryman have teamed to form Little Giants, who aim to make proper hip-hop music for your mind, body and soul. Pairing inspired, thought-provoking lyrics set over crisp, funky beats, the sounds of Little Giants harken back to the golden era of hip-hop. This release commemorates the memory of Nick “Pumpkin” Alvarado, who touched thousands of people with his signature music productions and acclaimed DJ sets at top music festivals and clubs across the US and abroad. He tragically passed away on March 25th 2016, but his generous spirit and magical music will continue to live on.

To honor his memory, Nick’s best friend and Little Giants production partner, Evan “Everyman” Shafran, started The Little Giant Acorn Foundation for The Arts, a non-profit organization that helps children get started in music or the performing arts who otherwise could not afford to do so. Nick absolutely loved to share his passion for music and performance art with the next generation and nothing gave him more joy.

By purchasing this LITTLE GIANTS album you are helping to ensure that Nick’s spirit continues to shine while ensuring that the next generations of “little acorns” have the means to pursue their creative passions. It was always a dream of Nick's to have a vinyl record of his own. We created Tribute almost 6 years ago with two really close friends of ours from Germany called CMC&Silenta. Our long time friend and collaborator Steve Beddall jumped on the track and wrote the lyrics and played the lead guitar and the song quickly become a personal fav of ours. Somehow over the years it just never got finished for a proper release, but we kept performing it in live in sets around the country whenever we had Steve on tour with us. We even played it live with Steve at our first ever Coachella just to do something different and bring our own vibe. We asked Steve the other day what was going through his head 6 years ago when he sat down wrote these vocals and he said "I guess the lyrics are really just reflecting a feeling of pushing through adversity, maintaining a positive mental attitude and also feeling proud of accomplishments." When the quarantine hit, we finally opened it up and polished off the production, now feels like the right time for Tribute to finally get released. For us its a Tribute to everyone thats supported us in our journey to get us to where we are today ♥
