A release that is called after the goddess of Babylon Ishtar, is one that instantly grabs our attention. Add to that fact that this compilation has been curated by a close family member of ours. The talented musician that goes by the name "Goro". And we have a winner. In comes the compilation by Orientaldeep that is altruistically set up to help refugees that have been struck extra hard due to the pandemic.

Orientaldeep: "As many of you may know loving and caring for one another is something we stand by and is something much needed in these trying times. If this year has been hard on anyone it is those who unfortunately became a refugee. That is why we have decided to support those in need. Because there is very little we can individually do, our common goal is to raise money for various charities, so they can do the work we can not.

Because music has the ability to cheer up, heal and connect those who listen to it, it is music through which we hope to help. In the past few months we have started collaborations with 13 artists. Every single one of them has made a masterpiece for us to put together into an album named “Ishtar”. This album is to celebrate the good things, heal and give hope to those who need it."

The Isha Upanishad (Devanagari: ईशोपनिषद् IAST īśopaniṣad) is one of the shortest Upanishads, embedded as the final chapter (adhyāya) of the Shukla Yajurveda. It is a Mukhya (primary, principal) Upanishad, and is known in two recensions, called Kanva (VSK) and Madhyandina (VSM). The Upanishad is a brief poem, consisting of 17 or 18 verses, depending on the recension. It is a key scripture of the Vedanta sub-schools, and an influential Śruti to diverse schools of Hinduism. It is the 40th chapter of Yajurveda. The name of the text derives from its incipit, īśā vāsyam, "enveloped by the Lord",or "hidden in the Lord (Self)". The text discusses the Atman (Self) theory of Hinduism, and is referenced by both Dvaita (dualism) and Advaita (non-dualism) sub-schools of Vedanta. Isha is also the name of my sister and is a sweet dedication to her wonderful being.

There is an opinion that the song “Qele Lao” (Let’s go my son), was created after the Armenian Genocide and expresses a lamenting conversation of a grandfather with his grandson, who has lost homeland and describes his longing for it. However, we think that this is wanderers’ song and comes from earlier times. 
In the VII century, Armenia fell under the yoke of Arab caliphate, which was replaced by the reign of Seljuk Turks, and after the fall of Constantinople, the capital of the Byzantine empire (1453), Ottoman Turks settled in the region. During all this time, Armenian peasants were in poor state, they paid very high taxes and the goods they created were snatched or bought with very low price. 
That’s why they were often in debt and in order to pay it they had to leave for foreign countries to earn money. But in other countries they were aliens, didn’t feel well, the people and culture there were different, they were not understood, were exploited, alone. 
This song is a an appeal of such a peasant who with sorrowful heart turns to his son to go to homeland to see their native village, their mountains. The alien Armenian fancies tetraxes playing with one another, swallows flying in the sky, then mountains and rocks on their slopes as if being rock tears, shed for the peasants who have left their homeland. He sees in his mind his parents who, despite being poor, live better in the homeland. 
The last stanza was added probably later because different Armenian cities are mentioned, Moush, Van, Sassoun. And in answer to his father’s “Let’s go my son, let’s go to homeland,” the son answers, “Let’s go father, let’s go to homeland
This state of Armenian peasants aggravated during the years of Armenian Genocide, driving them away with more intensity from their millennial cradle. This is the reason that this song is most sung after genocide when Armenians again left for foreign countries, where they are deprived of warm and careful treatment on the part of their relatives and countrymen and undergo whimsical treatment on the part of foreigners. And the realization of the loss of homeland makes their state more miserable. Having grown old in foreign countries they dream of going back to their homeland with their grandsons and introduce them the wonderful beauty, water and soil, and magnificent buildings in the native country.

This track "Acoran" Made back in Miami well I should say finished this year in April with My brother Marcelo Cura He came for his South American / North American tour and I just got back from my European tour he stayed at my crib for 3 months and we destroyed a 5 track LP one of them being "Acoran" We are not Huge fans of separating musical works from Albums or LP's but how could we pass the chance to be on Bar 25? One the the most Iconic Labels and Venues in the world. I am sure you wouldn't either ;) The Name Acoran comes from the supreme God of the Canary Islands my dads birth place, we mustered up the idea when my father took Marcelo Cura Guelfenbein out on his Boat called the "Acoran" We believed it was very fitting due to the fact that It has this beautiful Flamenco guitar and my my pops is from Spain! and with that we bring you "Acoran" The Full album will be release on Kindisch next year, making that our 3rd album together.
