With the slow progression of January, we decided to celebrate this day with some warm memories from 2021. Time to fill ourselves with music and hope once again!

"Last year a big dream came true! When I was invited to play at Burning Man on the iconic Mayan Warrior Stage I couldn’t believe it. I was really nervous on the way to the playa but once I started playing and saw all these lovely people dancing and enjoying my music all the weight fell off. It was the most special and magical gig I ever played and I want to thank the whole community and everybody at the Mayan Warrior camp for making this happen. I hope you can all feel the energy we had during that sunset. Love Nicolas"

Welcoming ADE 2024 with a special release: my live-recording from the ADE 2023 during the closing night of ADE and The Seekers of Light 2023 at Westerunie // Amsterdam, by @thegardensofbabylon. This 3-hour journey of energetic acid beats captures the energy of that final night, The Sunday Night for legends in one of Amsterdam's most iconic venues, still calling it as one of the most unique experiences of my life.  The energy from the crowd still resonates with me on the moment I start listening this recording, and I’m really excited to return this week to share more moments with the most loving crowd of Amsterdam. Huge thanks to White Ocean for making one of my dreams a reality. This year was my very first Burn… And if you met me on the playa, you know how much fun I had! For those who know me well, this experience was really powerful. I discovered a new part of myself, artistically and socially. And this set at White Ocean was very special. I was supposed to play a 3 hours live set but for many reasons I wasn’t able to do so…  So I improvised a kind of hybrid set remixing and editing some tracks in live. I had never done such a thing before and it was totally insane! Right after I started a big dust storm hit the playa and we couldn't see a thing but it was unbelievable! So epic! The crowd was insane! It probably was the craziest set in my entire life! I will never forget this one. There is so much to say… Just be there.

I am so happy to share with you this Set I recorded at the Spirit Train Fundraiser in Cape Town just a few days after the Burn ended.
I feel honored and blessed that this great crew included me in their loving Spirit both at Afrika Burn and at the Afterburn.

Mia Caught LO-FIs Attention with her warm debonair and kind nature, and after hearing her play a polished set at WALL TO WALL we were astounded to hear she has only been spinning for 9 months.

Mia's introduction to music was by her parents, being taken to festivals at an early age and being spoonfed Jazz, folk and more these influences brewed inside her mind.
Discovering the track Muse by Nicolas Jaar was the lightbulb moment and the first steps to electronic music enlightenment were taken.
Her quest took her to Europe where the chill stages of festivals was her education.

Mia has drawn inspiration from the likes off  Nicolaas Jaar, Clever Austin, Lui Mufata, Nils Frahm, Nikosh, Gary Clark Jr, Four Tet, Gidge, Lee Jones, Stimming, Arutani, Billy Caso,  Satori, Lemonella, flowers on monday, Groove Armada, Landhouse, Gaudi, Bado, Jean du Voyage... and from this her sound carries a warm emotion, with hints of melancholy.

Embedding herself in the Auckland underground scene it is her enthusiasm to organise events and lend a hand to those that need it that make her a pleasure to be around and her ease at weaving a soundscape makes her one to watch.

In her short career she has already played stellar sets at kiwi Burn and splore... and is becoming a regular on Auckland lineups.

For this mix Mia has put together a deep emotive offering..In her own words...

I spent sometime trying to make the playlist and have the mix be certain way but nothing felt like it was flowing with ease, so i ended  totally surrendering what it would sound like and just played for fun and myself dancing and moving and having a good ol time and that’s the recording I ended up with. Unplanned and just an extension of what i was feeling when I created it.  I think its good to have an outline but when we create with restrictions over what we are feeling in the moment it is harder to enjoy the recording experience. So taking a breath and tuning in to what I’m feeling in the moment is the approach that works for me.
