Warm Up at La Vibe 9.17.16

We are so excited to have one of our super talented friends, the adventurous Elif with us with our 33rd podcast. She has put together a great mix with a great back story: 

"When Deep House Vancouver asked me to do a podcast I was so excited because it's been a while since i prepared a podcast and i realized how much i missed it! 
I have been posting my sets from DJ gigs but no podcasts lately. In a gig, the DJ picks up vibes from the crowd and it almost becomes a collaboration between the DJ and the crowd. When it's a podcast or a mixtape there's no crowd present, so the DJ needs to set an almost imaginary vibe and take people on a journey. The listeners don't have a saying in this one, not directly or simultaneously at least. No interaction, they turn on the music wherever they are and just surrender to it and let it take them from wherever they are to whatever vibe the DJ imagined and i think that's a different and special kind of connection, almost like time travel and telepathy. 
I love music so much and my love goes beyond genres and bpms. I wasn't even sure what kind of tone i wanted to set for my DHV podcast. I started picking tracks without paying attention to bpm or the energy. Just tracks that make me feel something and that i want to share and tell a story with. 
After getting more into the prep of the podcast my heart went for a more downtempo and chill vibe with melodic elements and soothing vocals. I love playing darker and proggy vibez at gigs and i realized i was looking forward to setting an more relaxed mood. Maybe that was what i needed myself. I was even feeling a bit uneasy these days and preparing this podcast was an emotional release for me. 
I love listening to podcasts like this at home chilling after a night out or a busy work day. Whatever it is, it’s a change of mood, a relaxation a surrender. I hope you enjoy this one with similar warm and easy emotions."

When Elif’s not around in Istanbul she is probably busy filling her musical passport’s blank pages with prestigious world clubs’s stamps.

For the past three years we have connected with musicians to a love union like nothing else.. They fill our hearts with so much love and pride as they continue to create the most amazing music for our crowd. 

As you can not deny, our festival The Monastery was filled with musical treats. From start to finish we enjoyed a diverse repertoire of musical journeys that were simply mindblowing. The one that you are about to enter is very very special. Created by our dearest Ātmanā. 

As the Friday was coming to an end, the last ones gathered up at The Odd Ones Out for a last dance. We recall that we had to lie down, get some rest and as our body recharged our mind was fully occupied by this utterly beautiful set.
