Maltitz is the 16th selector to grace the Pick ’N’ Mix series, providing an hour of Italo disco slammers. Taking us back to the old school, Maltitz leaves no 80s banger unturned. High energy throughout, this one will fire up any party.

Maltitz is a Berlin based DJ and producer. His influences include 80s, rough electro, Acid House and Italo of course. Gracing the controls for our latest mix is stalwart of the game, Dawl. This mix comes at you with all guns blazing, filled to the brim with hard hitting breaks, disorientating bleeps and bloops and enough sirens to get any man running. 

Collecting music since the late 80’s, Dawl’s records span Techno, Electro, Acid House, Breakbeat, Hardcore with the outer edges sometimes creeping into the realms of Jungle. Pick 'n' Mix #29: Stones Taro

Ushering in the latest mix of the series, we have Denman serving up an unreal selection of garage plates, all dating between 93-99. Denman has collected all things garage for close to a decade: UKG, US garage house and even deep digging for some hidden Italian gems. In short, the man’s got stacks. 

You might have caught Denman a while back on Rinse and Radar, but if not, do not fear. You will be able to catch the certified selector back in the dance in 2022, with the 1000doors record label launching a club night run by himself and Boardgame James. In the meantime, enjoy this mix! Rotterdam based producer, DJ Crisps takes the reigns on the latest addition to the Pick ’n’ Mix series and we couldn’t be happier to have him!

DJ Crisps has been a serious bit of hot property the last 12 months with a shedload of big releases, including a series of EPs on Time is Now, as well as releases on Riz La Teef’s South London Pressings, ec2a and Breaks ’N’ Pieces to name a few.

Pick 'n' Mix #39: Fae

South East selector and 22 Tapes boss Bil-Sol has lit up our Sunday with a 1.5 hour mega mix for the series. Rather than paraphrasing a description for this one, here’s what Bil said himself: ‘I wanted this mix to showcase a whole load of genres and soundscapes that I've been playing recently, from soft aquatic feeling house, progressive house with a cosmic tinge, to trance and donk. With most of my mixes I always want to create a high nrg club feel, whilst keeping a nostalgic and euphoric vibe. A load of these tracks I've found in cheap record bins and recent Bandcamp purchases. Hope everyone enjoys the mix.’

Aside from Djing, Bil runs 22 Tapes, who recently sold out Corsica Studios with their last event and have a banging monthly show on Threads Radio. Pick ’n’ Mix #48: Basement Maxx

Jude says that the mix was made with the intention to improve mood, conserve positive emotions and decrease maintenance of thoughts. To celebrate TGR’s 50th instalment of the Pick ‘N’ Mix series, we happily welcome London-based DJ, St. Amp to the controls. 

Part of the London/Bristol-based electronic music collective Awake All Hours (@awake.allhours), St. Amp is involved in hosting a fortnightly podcast, an interview series, and a mix series over on the channel. 

What’s more, you can also catch them live and direct, with their next night planned for August at Spanners in Brixton. Not one to be missed. 

As for the mix, St. Amp takes us down the wormhole, showcasing his recent finds on the faster side of the spectrum with a boatload of high tempo techno, jungle, glitch, IDM and bass music.

After doing some serious soul-searching this week due to the post-Houghton blues, Noah Tucker has come to the rescue to provide us all with 48 minutes of non-stop naughtiness. Starting with some downtempo chugginess, the mix builds in intensity to UK bass and baile club weapons. 

Hailing from Hackney, the DJ/Producer has been busy helping to run the show over at Kindred Radio whilst also managing the label Ulterior Motives. Pick 'n' Mix #53: Vandeleur

Our 54th guest on the series is one of Exeter nightlife’s leading lights, @juniorverdant , providing a techno enthralled hour of beat nutrition. Henry’s love of techno spans far and wide from Detroit to dub. Inspired by his fathers influence as the head of Verdant recordings, Henry’s childhood was immersed with the sound. It’s been said that while your average Joe was played twinkle twinkle little star to calm their infant wails, Henry was played Andreaen Sand Dunes to transport him to a calming state.

Currently, Henry co-runs @room303uk , where they recently hosted Skin on Skin as well as Dusky. Looking to the future, he plans to soon delve into production using classic equipment methods, so keep your eyes peeled.

Over the last few years, Joe has been co-running events in South London under the name Each & Every (@eachandeverymusic). Although few and far between, they have offered up an intimate space where everyone feels like friends and family.

Exeter-based and @mixnights graduate, @lexia_majora, graces us with an hour of rominimal delight for our next in the series. The mix is complete with understated yet party-starting tunes that’ll have your foot tapping throughout. Lexia’s knowledge of this genre has been fine-tuned over the years during her anthropology PhD, where she has had a primary focus on the rominimal community. Lexia says she wanted the mix to have a deep, dreamy feel which takes the listener on a journey. So sit back and lock in to the next hour of minimal nutrition.

Kyiv-based Lugovskiy provides an hour of aerial breaks and beats, laden with nostalgic vocals and floating synths. 

Lugovskiy started producing music as Marsbeing in 2008, gradually collecting support from scores of DJs and labels. Now, as Lugovskiy, he is making his way with a more soft and organic sound. His most recent EP showcases this new style; described as a vortex of melodies and percussions, ‘Natural Decay’ demonstrates the deep emotion Lugovskiy unearths from his work station.

Pick 'n' Mix #56: Lugovskiy

DJ Healing Stones (Yegor) is a Russian born DJ and producer. Currently residing in Thailand, he stays pretty underground and incommunicado bar his Soundcloud where he occasionally posts spellbinding sets that were played all around the world.

Yegor has put ethnic beats, downtempo, spacey electro as well as organica and hypnotic techno records together into a rousing audio experience reminiscent of a mystical, dark yet blissful ancient ritual. 

Yegor and his friend Misha are currently working on a project called “MYRRH” that focuses on interlacing spiritual music with electronic analog sound. Stay tuned for new releases, but in the meantime you can catch their live sets in Thailand, Bali and some other parts of Southeast Asia.

Pick 'n' Mix #58: DJ Healing Stones

Featuring killer tracks from the likes of DJ Bone, Carl Finlow, and Roza Terenzi, Shawn Cartier strolls onto the series with a fast and furious mix oozing with wild rave energy. 

Clocking up releases on mighty labels like International Chrome, Childsplay and Haŵs, Shawn’s innovative rave methodology and expeditious BPMs have become synonymous with sounds of the UK.

Keeping it big, brash and bold has already gained him the support of esteemed selectors like Ben UFO, Dave Clarke and Anz, and features on stations like BBC Radio 1, Radio 6 and Rinse FM.

Shawn has also started a new live project under the name of Pleasure Corp with his musical partner Dufraine. With a string of releases scheduled this year, make sure to keep your eyes and ears peeled.
