Role of the Observer is an American progressive rock band from Atlanta, Georgia, United States. The band’s line-up includes Nick Leach (lead guitar, vocals, piano), Tyler Rhodes (guitar, vocals), Max Leach (drums, percussion) and Nate Epperson (bass guitar, samples.) 
Founded in 2012, the group has been known to take a conceptual approach to their writing. With influences ranging from classic rock bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, King Crimson to newer progressive bands like Porcupine Tree, Tool, Mastodon, and Opeth, their sound is nothing out of the ordinary. Their exceptional musicianship brings the listener across all ranges of rhythms and their shows are an audible special that is sure to keep the listener on their feet.
Role of the Observer has released two full length concept albums which are now available on iTunes and for free download at http://roleoftheobserver.bandcamp.com/ . In early 2014 Max Leach joined the group on drums. Since, the groups sound has developed in exciting ways and they plan to release a third album in 2015.

Nick Kizirnis' new album "The Distance" on ATOM Records is a Roy Orbison/Gram Parsons-inspired exploration of heartaches and heartbreaks. The album features contributions from several Ohio-based artists including Mark Patterson, Tod Weidner, Kate Wakefield, Patrick Himes and Crazy Joe Tritschler that bring out new dimensions in Kizirnis' songs. 

Kizirnis has been writing, recording and performing music ranging from indie pop-punk to moody surf guitar instrumentals, appearing with artists such as Bill Kirchen, Wanda Jackson, Dick Dale, Los Straitjackets and more. He toured with Tobin Sprout (Guided by Voices) when the two recorded an album together under the name Eyesinweasel, and mostly recently recorded the instrumental album "Barrier Reef" with drummer Jim Macpherson (The Breeders, Guided By Voices, Lab Partners).

* What do we stand for as a label?

We support all independent musicians who are doing something we find interesting. Our team members all have formal music education qualifications.

We are against corporate brainwash muzak, their puppet friends in the mass media, and many other corporate activities. We will fight their desecration of music until either it stops or we die. 

We believe in helping others in the face of corrupt laws and a broken system. We are pro democracy, green energy and free speech.

We're politically liberal. We cannot support the republicans, maga or gun violence in the usa. We don't see there's any real difference, other than in name, between the christian far right in the USA and the taliban in Afghanistan.

In the uk we are broadly pro LibDem/Green/Labour/SNP. We are VERY anti-tory, bnp, ukip, and any of their friends and associates. We have no trust at all in the uk right wing press monopoly and the bbc. Beware the bbc and its claims of neutrality. It is the propaganda mouthpiece of the tory party. It even charges a propaganda tax called the licence fee. But we like Test Match Special and Radio 6, so does that make us hypocrites...? Hmm.

We support independence for Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Cornwall. We support the individual and the underdog. We are anti-putin and his war, and pro-Ukraine.

Have you heard The High Fidelics yet? This “retro fresh” all instrumental band has started the chattering-class chattering and the toe-tappers' toes tapping. When you’re at a High Fidelics show, you’ll feel like you’re basking on a California beach, hanging out in a no-wave NYC club, and eating grits at a Memphis soul club -- all at the same time. Based in Birmingham, Alabama, this group of men-of-a-certain-age burst into the public eye in October 2010 and has not slowed down yet. They released their first album -- a self-engineered, self-produced eponymous blockbuster -- online in 2012 at www.thehighfidelics.bandcamp.com; the physical CD is slated for release later in 2012, and they have started tracking their second album (expected to come out in mid/late 2015).

The High Fidelics, like many other inspiring things these days, came about as a result of an advertisement posted on craigslist. Jeff Waites, erstwhile bassist and rabble-rouser, wanted to start a surf band as a side project to his then-active punk rock band. Luckily for Jeff, guitarist Edwin Cleverdon answered the ad. It would be hard to find two more different people. Jeff, a Birmingham native, is a self-taught musician, jack-of-all-trades by day, pub-crawler by night, whereas Edwin, from Mobile, Alabama, is a classically trained musician, tax lawyer by day, and mild-mannered father of three. However, this odd couple found common ground in their love of high-energy melodic instrumental music, and they quickly began laying the groundwork for a new, all instrumental rock band.

To fill out the band, Edwin called in long-time friends Ken Adams and Robert “Rowbear” Huffman, former bandmates in The Club Wig, a seminal group from the early punk/new wave scene in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Ken, a computer systems analyst originally from Chicago, has drummed in countless bands over the years (including the University of Alabama‘s Million Dollar Band), and can't be beat when it comes to laying down an infectious groove. Ken’s musical prowess is not limited to smacking the skins -- he is also a first-rate guitarist and keyboardist. Rowbear, a USDA inspector originally from Roanoke, Virginia, is the only member who came to the band with a “surf” pedigree, having tickled the ivories with the legendary Penetrators under the nom-de-plume “Bobby Corvair.” Not only is he a peerless organ-izer, Rowbear also serves as the band’s emcee, announcing song titles and other relevant information via his trusty megaphone. In addition to his High Fidelic duties, he can often be found around Birmingham and environs performing “The Great American Songbook,” accompanying himself on acoustic guitar and harmonica. For a short period, before their public debut, the band included sax-man Lars Espensen (formerly of The A-Bones), who is currently working with Jeff in the Tuscaloosa-based garage/surf band The Original Shake Charmers.

Although all four members are accomplished vocalists (each of them having served as lead singer with previous bands), The High Fidelics are strictly an instrumental ensemble. In this way, the performances highlight the interaction of each instrument in its purest form.

The bulk of their material is comprised of numbers written by Jeff and by Edwin, but with a heaping helping from Ken and from Rowbear. They also cover a few familiar (and some not-so-familiar) songs FTW. The High Fidelics have released their first album, look for it at http://thehighfidelics.bandcamp.com/.
