Rose Behar of CompCamp (http://compcamp.ca)

Rose started CompCamp in 2012 with co-founders Taylor Quinn and Michael Johnston. CompCamp is a business that offers summer and after-school programs for youth who have the desire to explore the digital world beyond what they are getting. 

The programs are offered for small groups of youth, include mentorship from community specialists and provide an opportunity for hands-on teamwork that simulate real-life experiences in the field of technology and computer science. 

In a world where understanding programming code can be as valuable as knowing a foreign language, CompCamp has received an overwhelming welcome from the Halifax community.

In our interview today Rose talks about how CompCamp started and what has evolved as a result of offering this program. We will hear about the Girls Tech League and what is coming this summer and in the future for CompCamp as well as how we you can get involved.

Anuranjita Tewary founded Technovation Challenge in 2009 after attending Startup Weekend. Dr. Tewary wanted to offer girls the opportunity to learn how to start a company and become high-tech entrepreneurs. Technovation Challenge has doubled in size every year since it started.
