2022 is coming to an end… What a ride it was! Finally after 2 years it was allowed to come together and celebrate in the clubs again so that's what we did 🥳

Today I want to share my recording of our first Mystic Creatures Showcase (@mystic-tales-berlin) @kater_blau in June. I played the closing @ Acid Bogen from 9:30-12:00 Saturday morning. Thanks to the @ursl crew for inviting us 🙏 Although there were just around 20 people dancing, the vibe was amazing and our Mystic Family was there  🥰  Thank you, I enjoyed it a lot!
To be honest I wasn't quite sure if I should upload it or not, but I never want to regret not uploading a set again. Although I've released some of the tracks already in my last 3 sets, I listened to this one several times and it convinced me so here we go 🎶

📀 Auf ein neues 📀

✍️ Das alte Jahr geht zu Ende und das neue klopft an die Tür. Für den letzten Tag des Jahres kommt man vorzugsweise mit seinen Liebsten zusammen. Dann wird gemeinsam gefeiert, getanzt und gelacht. Gutes Essen trifft auf gute Laune. Eventuell wird der eine oder andere Schaumwein geöffnet, eine Sportzigarette geraucht oder andere Leckereien vernascht. 
Der letzte Tag des Jahres ist ein ganz besonderer. Lasst uns jeder für sich und alle gemeinsam das vergangene Jahr reflektieren und frohsinnig in 2023 starten. 

🎵 Zum Jahreswechsel hat uns Pay Kusten sanft-säuselnde musikalische Unterhaltung mitgebracht. Ein Podcast der mit dem Flow fließt und ganz unbemerkt die Zeit verstreichen lässt. In der Ruhe liegt die Kraft und davon hat dieses Set eine ganze Menge. Wir können guten Gewissens jegliche Art von Stress von uns abfallen lassen. Wir schenken der Musik, diesem vielschichtigen Spektrum sonnig verspielter Frequenzen unsere Aufmerksamkeit und erleben und genießen so das SoSein.

After a short trip to snowy and cosy Stuttgart to picao, the desire for sun and sea has grabbed us... . 

So today we welcome you from Florida's pearl Miami. There, of course, we had to meet Adrian aka Magician On Duty. A talented artist and manager who also brought attention to our scene in Europe with his original podcast series of the same name (https://soundcloud.com/magicianonduty/sets/journey-series). At least for all those who like organic deep house. In the course of time, Magician On Duty developed further into a label with releases by, for example, https://soundcloud.com/thomas-gaarthuis, https://soundcloud.com/david-hasert and many more. Here, too, the original spirit is preserved.

When we heard the mix for the first time a few days ago, we were a little surprised and speechless at first. Downtempo? Adrian? Basically, we had expected something else, namely his signature sound: Organic Deep House. But the first impression was deceptive. After just a few minutes, he increased the tempo to his usual level. 

His set is an exciting 'afterhours' journey into the thicket of melodic and hypnotic electronic music. In over three hours of music, he has packed in pretty much everything he has in the way of tools and hidden gems to make this mix a special one. Enriched with instrumental and vocal passages like the classic "I can't get no sleep" by Faithless, he even gives the recording a feeling of being at home and nostalgia. Alongside all the positivity, however, he doesn't forget to implement a fair amount of depth into his set. Thus, he daringly but skilfully keeps the balance between lightness and ecstasy. All in all, the mix has become an absolute cream puff, which we definitely don't want to miss anymore: Namely timeless, individual and with a lot of love for detail.

If afterhour sounds, then here. Although, the mix really does suit any time of day or night.

Besides the mix, we didn't miss the chance to ask Adrian a few questions that we don't want to withhold from you.

Q: What are your musical influences? What is your musical background?

A: I liked music since I was a child, it was sort of my refuge... listening to tapes from Michael Jackson, Depeche Mode, Queen and more. I guess I got more exposed to music, in general, while I was breakdancing with my friends. We were listening and training on funk, jazz and hip hop.

Q: What makes a good "afterhour"?

A: The soundtrack to an early morning party can be incredibly powerful, helping to create an atmosphere of excitement and energy. Whether it's downtempo or something more energy driven, the music can help to set the tone for the party and create a sense of unity among those in attendance. 

What makes it good? The ability to connect with everyone around you. That feeling when you look around and everyone is on the same frequency. If we are connected, we are all on the same journey. 

Q: Do you have any thoughts you would like to share about your set?

I think this is one of my favorite sets that I have recorded, as it has all the ingredients necessary to facilitate a fantastic journey. There are so many ways that you can approach an afterhour set, I don't think there is a certain formula or format that you should use, I think the artist has the freedom to pursue any mood or genre as long as It creates a connection between people.

Sit back and relax! Because a journey awaits you that is made for an afterhour.

So langsam reicht es dann jetzt auch mit dem Winter; eben noch die ersten Sonnenstrahlen durch jede mögliche Körperzone inhaliert, grüßen uns dann doch noch mal kurz ein paar eisige Temperaturen. Nichtsdestotrotz sitzen wir schon tief in den Plänen für den kommenden Sommer.
Einige von euch dürfen sich freuen, auf das, was so kommen mag. - Was meinen die da bloß? -

Aber ganz entspannt, erst einmal wollen wir gemeinsam mit Arkadiusz aus dem wunderschönen Spessart, DJ & Curator von Afterhour-Sounds, ne ausgiebige Runde auf unserem Karussell drehen. 
Den meisten wird er durch seine fein abgestimmten, fluiden Sets ein Begriff sein, mit denen er uns schon seit einigen Jahren beglückt. Viele verbinden eher Downtempo mit ihm, doch auch unter dem Begriff „Hypnodance“ lässt er mal eine etwas andere, schnellere und auch deepe, gefühlvolle Seite raus. Wer sich davon überzeugen lassen will, sollte sich unbedingt den Mitschnitt von seinem kürzlichen Ausflug in der Waldschänke Dornheim reinziehen – grandios!

Nun, aber hier und heute gibt es wie gewohnt einen sehr harmonischen Mix der Kategorie Slowrave.
Was sollen wir jetzt dazu noch sagen? Wieder mal ein Meisterwerk, mit dem du uns hier eine knappe Stunde mitgenommen hast. Wir bedanken uns, dass du dabei bist und freuen uns auf deine baldigen eigenen Releases in diesem Jahr - jap, ihr habt richtig gehört!
