The night
Glides over My face
Like soft dew
that in the morning
leaves
the marks of a battlefield
where ancient emotions
melt and heal
in the strength
of the sun's rays.

Dew petals
glide over my eyes
like binary codes
travelling fast
towards the future
and leave Our world
now ancient
already silent
defrauded of emotions.

Thus, it represents a way for Me to honour and re-evaluate the human being, which should not be considered separate from the whole, instead perceiving its subtle connections to the entire Creation, of which We are a part.

Le poesie vedono oltre la realtà, le poesie sono parte di Noi: così, così, così, inizia la canzone.

Cadono stelle assopite 
Cadono immagini usurate 
Cadono sogni proibiti 
Cadono insegne mondane 
Cadono insegne luminose spente 
Cadono sipari
che oscurano la Verità.

Emerge il ricordo, di Noi esseri splendenti
forte è il battito del Nostro antico cuore.

La notte
scivola sul Mio viso
come morbida rugiada
che al mattino
lascia
i segni di un campo di battaglia
dove le emozioni antiche
si sciolgono e guariscono
nella forza
dei raggi del sole.

verso il futuro
e abbandonano il Nostro mondo

Ogni particella che si riferisce alla persona, quali pronomi personali, ecc. iniziano con la lettera maiuscola (es: Noi, Ci, Vi, Me...) per ricordarCi che Noi siamo parte dell'Energia primordiale da cui tutto è scaturito, in Noi è presente la scintilla divina, Noi siamo anime e non semplici meccanismi biologici con un ciclo di vita limitato (con questa Mia convinzione e sensazione profonda ho scritto anche le Mie precedenti pubblicazioni).

Rappresenta così per Me un modo di onorare e rivalutare l'Essere umano, che non dovrebbe considerarSi separato dal tutto, percependo invece la sottile connessione con l'intero Creato, di cui siamo parte.

Alt-folk duo The Last Inklings release their self-produced debut EP Alchemy on 24th April 2020. Five original songs that are unified by the theme of personal growth. 

The golden thread that runs through the EP is a quotation from the philosopher Marcus Aurelius - ‘the soul is dyed by the colour of its thoughts’ which embodies the idea that we should always strive to refine our inner gold.

The five songs are inspired by modern myth and folklore, drawing on narrative influences ranging from the English Chronicles to Stoic philosophy. The experimental sound focuses on cello and mandolin layered with vocal harmonies.

ALCHEMY

THE LEGEND OF LYONESSE

The Last Inklings are Leonardo MacKenzie and David Hoyland, formerly of Kadia; both are accomplished multi-instrumentalists with a solid folk background. The band's innovative sound crosses genres, centred around cello, mandolin and vocal harmony, layered with guitar, piano, strings, synths and percussion. With vibrant backstories and creative musicianship, their songs have a modern flavour that is rich with imagery and narrative, exploring at their core what it is to be human. 

Their name is a nod to the mid 20th century literary group which included Tolkein and CS Lewis, although their inspiration is drawn from wider sources than just these authors, ranging from Carl Jung to Terry Pratchett. Thoughtful depth is handled with a light touch, balanced with playfulness, metaphor and humour. Musically their influences are equally diverse, including artists such as Moulettes, Punch Brothers, and the cinematic soundscapes of composers like Max Richter to the traditional songs and tunes of the British Isles.

The Last Inklings are releasing their debut album in Autumn 2021, following the release of their EP Alchemy in Spring 2020
