FOUND WITHIN FRIENDS is a new feature series on Found Within with a monthly mix session, interview and music discussion - featuring friends and up and coming artists in the scene. This month we have two very special guests, Dajana Dedic & Andre Stahlhofen - otherwise known as ‘The Fields’.

This month we warmly welcome our friends Andre and Dajana into the Found Within fold for our fam-vibe podcast series. We have always felt a connection with these two, and are excited to have them onboard with us to showcase their craft and meticulous DJing abilities. Having known Dajana and Andre for some years, we and anyone else who knows them will recognise the warmth, dedicated compassion and absolute drive that they have for their music. It came as no surprise that their debut year was so highly successful; with an international festival booking, their own successful on-going monthly party, and various gigs and festival slots around Melbourne and afar.

Andre was born and raised in Berlin, so discovered his love for electronic music from a very young age. Starting with an interest in Drum ‘n’ Bass at age 22, he purchased his first set of turntables and started playing gigs around Berlin. Over the following five years, his taste began to evolve. Becoming intrigued by the deep house and techno scenes of Berlin, he began playing in a duo with good friend Andi Ejtsch as ‘Walls of Destiny’ in clubs such as Griessmule, Astra, Fritz Club & Lido. Dajana grew up in Melbourne after migrating from Germany at the age of six. She always had a deep love for music, and trained in classical piano for 12 years. It wasn’t until her first trip to Berlin in 2012 where she fell in love with electronic music and began regularly attending events back home in Melbourne’s underground scene.

During Dajana’s second visit to Berlin in 2015 she met Andre, and they instantly bonded over their shared taste in music. Whilst living in Berlin together for eight months, they became immersed in the Berlin club scene and started DJing together.
In late 2016 they moved to Melbourne with a goal to start playing out together, develop their own sound, and make their mark on Melbourne’s electronic scene. Whilst their early days were challenging, they quickly began landing sought-after gigs at venues such as Killing Time, New Guernica, My Aeon, Glamorama and Railway Hotel Brunswick.

In August 2017, things turned a corner when they won a DJ competition called ‘Your Shot’. This saw them being flown to San Diego, USA, to play at CRSSD festival, where they warmed up the main stage for Dixon, Marcel Dettmann and KINK.

It was during this time that they got together with two close friends James Egan and Denis Khassapov and decided to start throwing a monthly day party in Melbourne called ‘Who Loves?’. Their idea was to bring their love for melodic and deeper European sounds to Melbourne in an event that had the atmosphere of a music festival. Their event has grown considerably over the past eight months, showcasing well-known and respected artists as well as showing support to many talented newcomers to the scene. This has been an immensely proud achievement for The Fields and the Who Loves? team. Their hope is to continue growing their event and pushing their sound further, not only to establish themselves, but also to contribute to Melbourne’s diverse underground scene.

The set they have recorded for us is absolutely packed - showcasing a wealth of knowledge. Their use of sublime and coherent progressions, tight, rolling deep grooves, and sophisticated melodic records, expand and open up so coherently with their perfectly calibrated track selection. One can easily imagine this set shaking the stacks of a summer festival rig to its limits! Well done guys!

Welcome back to another episode of The Lost Playground Radio! This week is our first anniversary week and we would like to celebrate with you by bringing you a mix from the guy who headlined our first-ever event. He has been known for a few years in the Melbourne underground music scene with his contribution to co-run one of the city's finest events, Who Loves? He has played in clubs such as My Aeon, Revolver and Pawn&Co, just to name a few.

The Lost Playground Radio #4 - Supine

The Lost Playground is a music and arts event that started in Melbourne, Australia in 2019. This is where you will find mixes and live recordings from the events. 

Just over a year ago we started The Lost Playground. In this fraction of time, TLP has already brought us so many memories that we hold dear and, most importantly, it connected us with you and with other beautiful people like you.

The beautiful city of Melbourne is fertile ground for freedom of expression and artistic elaboration of ideas. The amount of love that is felt throughout the creative community is none but the vital force that unites, challenges, provokes, and most importantly inspires artists to nurture their element. It allows them to reach for that essence, to experience stillness, and to thrive in such an environment that propels the best out of their ideas.
It is based on this feeling that we created The Lost Playground, our place for contributing to the creative scene of this city we call home.
For our institution, art, music and expression of self are the pillars of our community. TLP is filled with art and we believe in creating the right environment for your experiences that will become memories to cherish. We want to inspire you the same way that we are inspired by this city, our fellow promoters, and other gatherings. The Lost Playground is the space where you lose yourself to participate, to connect, to dance, and to express your best self surrounded by artists and positive individuals.

We champion merging music genres and creating a journey for emotions and vibes to evolve and to interconnect throughout the events and on our digital platforms.

In this first year, we have been blessed with the opportunity of guesting some of Melbourne's finest creatives. To see the names that have graced The Lost Playground with their presence and vision has been a humbling and surreal experience. Artists that we look up to and that we got the chance to interact with. We have found ourselves astounded to see what we have accomplished and what we have learned each and every time. Every success and every failure. We could have not been more inspired by what unfolded in front of us and specifically, going back to a full circle, by the amount of love shown to us.

We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to each and everyone that has taken part in our journey. To the amazing guys in charge of the venue who let us use their space to express ourselves. To the Staff, making sure everyone's cup is full. To our team who helped us early in the morning and late at night. To everyone that showcased their art and their talent. To those who came and believed in us. To those who are with us and to those who will. Our hearts are brimming with joy and we are looking forward to reconnecting with you!
