The boldly titled new release on Nous’Klaer might not sound like what you expect. ‘Trance Unlimited’ is a four-track-run full of kicks and curiosities, crafted by dj/musician/label owner Benedikt Frey. Though this versatile producer is new to the label, he sounds perfectly at ease, providing us with a warm and balanced 12 inch for dancefloor fun and bumpy road trips. 

After releases on Hivern Discs, Live At Robert Johnson and his own Love Pain Sunshine & Rain, Benedikt Frey explores new rhythmic ranges and phasing patterns on this EP. Whilst all tracks are dancefloor-ready, it’s the A2 that’s the raving giant: Trance Unlimited.

We heard about Robert Yang when he was, just like us, part of this huge communauty of geeks, record diggers, music connoisseurs and gear freaks producers on The Cybernetic Broadcasting System forum (the webradio of I-F) where he was going by the name of Robot Hustle. He is one of the original members of Honey Soundsystem and has released various records on Josh Cheon's "Dark Entries"""  and Honey Soundsystem's flagship label as well as some oothers on "Public Release" or Fort Romeau's "Cin Cin". Over the course of the last few years he has been perfecting a live music performance of the better taste. A multi-instrumentalist, Robert was trained in saxophone starting at age 10, before moving onto a Fender Telecaster after high school. After being exposed to Southern California rave culture in the late 90s, he moved onto DJing and collecting records. By the time he planted his roots in San Francisco in 2005, Robert had built an impressive analog synth-based studio, which also serves as the creative hub for his riveting live performances.

This synth hoarder, vinyl juggler, and deep sea enthousiast’s musical journey has taken him all over the place in the past decade - DJ’ing, producing, and performing under various aliases with different styles before settling under his given name on stage. With his live synth sets he’s torn it up in venues like Radion and Claire (RIP) to name a few, and his DJ sets have taken him to many more. Offstage his nimble knack for production and ever-expanding synth collection have resulted in releases on @PatronRec and the Everyone On Acid imprint(@kegffnayy_everyoneonacid). 

For the next hour Lennard Ypma plunges into a realm of the mighty Drexciyan warriors where raw 303 driven electro, scuffed breaks, and rough irradiating waves of discordant synth pressure reign supreme.

Теперь наступило время познакомиться с его альтер-эго — DJ Conference, в котором он сублимировал любовь к ломаным ритмам и электронике, идеально сочетающихся с утренними часами и солнцем.

Nach einer kleinen Sommerpause spannt Dj Balduin ein Netz aus atmosphärischen Sounds, sich aneinander schmiegenden Melodien und trippigen Eskapaden.
Schon im Kindesalter erfuhr er ein breites Spektrum an Musikdiversität. So prägten ihn die Techno Tapes seines Babysitters ebenso wie die Klassiksammlung seines Vaters.
Als DJ verknüpft Balduin die als Kind erfahrenen Eindrücke geschickt zu lebendigen Landschaften, in welchen der hörende Gast, paralysiert, in funkelnde atmosphärische Nebelwolken starrt, oder sanft zur nächsten Weggabelung geschoben wird. Seine Veröffentlichungen auf Kompakt, QC Records und dem hauseigenen Label GLYK bestätigen die Vorliebe aus allen Genretöpfen zu schöpfen.
Dj Balduin liefert mit diesem Beitrag den adäquaten Soundtrack für langerträumte Abenteuer!
