A special 2 hour and 42 minute presentation of psychedelia that recalls the dark corners of warehouse parties of a forgotten era, while at the same time, striking to the current core of modern jakbeat aesthetics. Further mind altering experiences are provoked and amplified by a delay pedal that runs its course from beginning to end, while making no apologies for its audible presence. In Hour 2 it's Red Axes, who have a well-established presence on the outlandish fringes of experimental, alternative and dance music. The celebrated Israeli duo make a surprise left-turn onto Phantasy with a three-track 12”, ‘Sipoor’, following on from last year’s self-released LP, ‘The Beach Goths’. ‘Sipoor’ is released on 22nd June and they had this to say about their mix;
"Music for fisherman and fisherman's friends."

A consummate record selector with impeccable taste, Andy spent many years as label manager for 2020 Vision Recordings before heading South to run R&S, a label at the forefront of electronic music for well over 20 years. Andy has had a pivotal role in steering some of its recent success stories in Lone, The Maghreban, Talabomen and Space Dimension Controller. Here he presents us with a mix of recent favourites, starting slowly and building into some ethereal late nite sonics. Enjoy.

A little while ago we stumbled across a beautiful album by an unfamiliar duo - Diamont Dancer are made up of Pau Roca & Nacho Marco and have worked together to produce some of the finest in ambient, drone and experimental in recent times. Drawing influence from the likes of Brian Eno, Alessandro Cortini and John Carpenter they have captured a sound which sits somewhere between the ethereal and the haunting, it is dreamy in parts but comes not without a sinister twist. 

This mix series was made very much with the purpose of showcasing music like this, Diamont Dancer as a perfect soundtrack to your Monday. Listen as they select music by  Fennesz & Sakamoto, Biosphere, Sonic Youth and more.

Except we aren't ashamed, we are in fact more than happy to welcome back the fabulous Serial Experiments as part of our Monday mix series. Vilmantas Pocius is better known as his alias Serial Experiments, an up and coming producer and one of the prominent members behind the whypeopledance team of which we have been a fan for many years. He knows a lot about music and has developed a wealth of knowledge whilst managing one of the most interesting and diverse music blogs in recent times. 

This is the second time that he has contributed to the mix series, it's easy to see why...

We first crossed paths with Nathan when he played at the opening of our store in Groningen, where he is the youngest resident of club night, KopjeK (@kopjek). His influences are broad, thanks to growing up amongst music lovers, and he’s already making major waves in the scene, despite his tender years. She is a long term vocalist and collaborator with the musician Zeta Zeta and a member of the Valley Sound Records family. Two tracks from the VSR discography bookend this mix. Have a nice one.

"At the start of 2019, a dear friend invited me to the house of Lana Turner, the co-founder and chair of The Literary Society, a New York City book discussion group founded in 1982 and based in Harlem. At dinner Miss Turner spoke about the practice of writing to oneself, particularly a letter or postcard while traveling, a way to check-in, reflect, remind.  

I wrote this long letter on a short piece of paper to remember my first trip to Japan, particularly a very cleansing & much needed hike that I took in Atsumi Onsen - Tsuruoka, Yamagata.

This mix is dedicated to my aforementioned dear friend, Sir Jacobs."

The last time we were able to throw a party, Orographic played to five hundred people packed into a CrossFit gym turned freak out zone and we miss that moment more than ever. This mix is helping us dream of brighter days.

As a DJ, Reza's goal is to surprise people with music they aren’t too familiar with, using mind & body dancing as the biggest precedence in his musical philosophy and sets. His unique style has led to him being a regular at Cocktail d'Amore alongside building his incredible style and finesse. As a promoter as well, his Golestan nights at De Plak in his hometown are his bi-monthly leeway, and are second to none.

In his podcast today, Reza guides us on a two and a half hour journey of the known universe, weaving through slo-mo rhythms, subtle acid trips, psychedelic algorithms and much, much more.

It's Monday again. At least we think it is... The days and nights have been seemingly blurring into one over the last few months. Especially if you've spent your Sunday night parked up at some strangers house, who now happens to be your new best mate, blissfully talking about the meaning of life and the trick to making a perfect poached egg.

Finding himself in many a Sunday-cum-Monday escapade, Ibiza-based DJ Mark Broadbent is the perfect man to sountrack the start of the new week. As part of The Brothers Grim, alongside Andrew Livesey, you'll likely find him holding down residencies at some of the island's more progressive music spots like Hostel La Torre and Pikes, whilst by day he runs a guest house overlooking Ibiza Town harbour.

His mix for us meanders through an hour and a half of sounds perfect for that Sunday/Monday limbo, accompanied by an interview about life on the white isle...

@Amamelia is the musical project of Amelia Berry, a musician and songwriter currently based in Auckland.

Amamelia's music combines breaks normally found in Jungle & Drum & Bass with a sugary synthetic pop sensibility.

Outside of Amamelia, Amelia can be found creating ambient soundscapes in caves as Old Chips, playing in queerbo pop-punk band Babyteeth and performing as one half of synth pop duo Fimo.
