Born and raised in Jamaica, Queens New York, now resides in the D.C. Metro Area...actually 20 mins outside DC....I am a Hip-Hop Junkie and self proclaimed Historian...(don't ask me about how it was like when the Zulu Nation, started out in the BX...I can't remember that far....I have to check my uncles for that...I was a baby then. Mid-80's throught Today's Hip-Hop..(eventhough today's Hip-Hop some of that shit is starting to lose me..lol!). Fell in love with production in my teen years. My cousin Kahil was a DJ and producer for a group INAMUV....trying to get in the game in the 90's....It didn't work out, so they moved on to other things!!! I still had much interest in it, but it wasn't until I went to SUNY Old Westbury back in 94 where a semester later, I would meet my homie and music partner Troy Washington aka Rasheen.  Also I would meet a brother my the name of Lucious Mercer aka Lucky. Lucky was one of my peoples that put the inspiration back into me, making beats again!!! Before I met them, I stopped due to real life situations, that was going on!! But I am greatful that I have continued!!  Rasheen and I have been making beats for 9 years or so....damn time flies!!! We called ourselves many things....but Nightshift seem to fit due to us working in the day, and coming home at night , working on music!!! For myself...music has always been in my life since a kid...I take it very seriously....making beats is very theraputic, keeps my creative juices flowing, it keeps me out of trouble...lol!!, it's fun to do, and it shows a side of your inner being, the real you....(many of you are like...what the fu...is he talking about!) What I mean is that it shows what type of mood you are in, shows how creative and talented you are....to me, like I said it's very serious to me..music is a very expressive, and universal language...and I want people to hear The Nightshift's music and hear what we are trying to do....and get a understanding that...."These guys have something"!!
My weapons of choice is none of all niggas business....lol!!! just messing with you...LOL!!! Hip-Hop needs a HUG...stop catchin feelings!!! LOL!!! I use anything that gets the job done!!! from Hardware to Software to noware!!! Beat box with my mouth, bang on some buckets like those kats do in Times Square..., man, I;ll sample you breathin' and make a beat out of that!!! It's doesn't matter....as long as the results and the execution comes out tight!!!!Just peep the sounds of the Nightshift...you will like what you hear....believe it!!! ONE-Su Life

Ypsilanti, Michigan’s own golden child, Kendall Tucker, bka 14KT, is a multi-talented Artist/Producer/DJ. His musical roots came from growing up singing in the church choir. It was there and by studying his parent’s jazz and soul records, along with piano and upright bass lessons, Kendall learned the fundamentals of music.

14KT got his start as 1/7th of this mighty Hip-hop collective, The Athletic Mic League. He started out as an emcee, inspired by the sounds of Wu-Tang Clan, Nas, Gangstarr, A Tribe Called Quest and Outkast. Finding it hard to get instrumental beats, KT started using the “Pause/Play/Record” method, by looping breaks on cassette tapes so the crew could rap over them. 

14KT’s solo career began in 2008. After a rich history with AML, he entered and won his first beat battle competition, in Red Bull Big Tune Detroit. Later that year, he released his debut instrumental LP, “The Golden Hour [Soundtrack].” The Golden Hour made its mark appearing on many year-end “top albums” lists. Okayplayer said “this is the sort of striking project that can singlehandedly create an artists following.” And so it did.

14KT is the last Big Tune national champion, which he went on to win in 2010.
He’s worked with the likes of Aloe Blacc, Black Milk, Bun B, Danny Brown, Elzhi, Jay Electronica, JMSN, Masta Ace, Mayer Hawthorne, Legendary Motown Funk Brothers guitarist Dennis Coffey and many others. His music was featured in the DVD for Michael Rapaport’s A Tribe Called Quest documentary, “Beats, Rhymes, & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest.” Live, he’s rocked with the Stones Throw crew, at Low End Theory, SXSW, on tour with Mayer Hawthorne, Slum Village, and across the U.S., Canada, Europe and Australia.

To date, 14KT has released seven solo albums, as well as his collaborative Hip-hop album, "Takin Ls" with emcee Ozay Moore,  R&B/Soul album, “Saturn Return” with singer/songwriter AB, and “The Big Knock”, together with Mayer Hawthorne as the “Beat Wave” group Jaded Incorporated [Universal Republic/Casablanca Records]. Jaded Incorporated was born out of their mutual adoration for the Post-Punk and New Wave music of the early 1980′s, and Ghettotech music in the 90′s Detroit scene.

14KT is currently revving up to release another duo collaboration album with Michigan rapper Ro Spit, entitled "RSXGLD" to be released in 2017.
