With releases on Cologne's Kompakt, Mono Records of Helsinki as well as a remix for Mexico's Controlla and a collaboration with Karri O. remixed by Oliver Koletzki, Marinko has been working on new music and a/v productions with more releases planned for 2024.

Laseech is a producer & DJ with a preternatural ear for the more adventurous and eclectic side of deep house, a sound never lacking in soul or vitality. After cuts on labels including BBE and Lumberjacks in Hell, the Croatian artist dropped "Hey Love" on vinyl featuring vocals by Desney Bailey and remixes by Dego and Patrice Scott this spring, which you can read about later in the latest issue of 5 Mag.

This 5 Mag cover mix, released as the latest in our deep house mix series Sanctify, is "a warm up mix of songs I dig lately. A mix of everything, from deep disco Chicago inspired edits, to contemporary deep house and broken beat, it features three of my recent productions, two songs from the Hey Love EP and a song called 'Forbidden Estuary.' Really hope you like it."

The Cover Mix: Laseech 🔥 Sanctify vol 7

Following recent sombre developments that our beloved Stanley Street Block Parties are no longer—cheers for that, local council!—we thought it appropriate to pay homage to the fantastic times enjoyed by all, by making available our recorded mix from last month.

(We failed to realise it at the time, but it may be the very last Block Party gracing the sacred bitumen known at Stanley Street... at least, for the foreseeable future.)

The Fazz @andrewfazzolari and I were handed a prime slot for the balmy October afternoon to do our Attic @atticsydney thing.

Within the hour-long offering, you can expect our usual blend of fun, fruity, typically disco-skewed house music, with a few fruits from yesteryear thrown in.

Lyon-based dynamic duo Lekind & Fatalgerian rekindle their musical synergy on new EP 'Bunny Lava’, for Robsoul Recordings. Having both flown solo with the releases on the label over the last two years, this new EP marks their collaborative return to Phil Weeks’ imprint, following their 2020 release 'Test Micro,’ and their recent drop on David Duriez's legendary Brique Rouge imprint.
The EP kicks off with the title track, 'Bunny Lava,' a metallic, percussive journey into jackin' beats that set the tone to perfection. The rhythm takes a turn with '4th Floor,' a stomping track that bears the unmistakable signature of Lekind.
On the flip side, Fatalgerian shifts the gears with 'Fatitalian,' a shuffling swing that invites listeners to groove along, before the EP concludes on a high note with 'Fantome Club,' a vocal-led deep dive that showcases the duo's versatility and musical depth.

In the spirit of defecting from the much-maligned third-person bio approach: in short, I am a Sydney-based DJ who specialises in the sounds of deeper house and disco.  I take delight in playing a solid warm-up set and revel in the success of watching a room build around it.

Since making my club debut as a fresh-faced eighteen-year-old at 'Thursday Delights' at the Icebox—a popular trance and hard dance event of the time—I have been lucky enough to play right across Sydney, enjoying bookings at Sounds on Sunday, S*A*S*H, Chinese Laundry, Plastic, Café del Mar, The Burdekin and Candy's Apartment; as well as larger-scale events such as Big Day Out and Harbour Party NYE.

In the process, I've also been fortunate enough to support some of the leading names in dance music—both locally and from around the world—including LCD Soundsystem, Booka Shade, Subb-an, Chymera, Sonja Moonear, Luke Chable, Jasper James, YokoO, Kenny Glasgow, Darren Emerson, Mark Dynamix and Kid Kenobi, to name just a few.

I like to put on the promoter hat, too, hosting and playing at events of my own: 'Attic' being my main project.

Since its inception, the Attic brand has enjoyed success in its standalone parties—for which we've toured renowned house and disco artists, Fouk, Nachtbraker, Folamour and Laurence Guy, to name a few—as well as appearing all around Sydney for invitational takeovers, radio appearances, and exclusive showcase sets.

Away from the club dancefloor, you might also find me playing an extended-length set in a low-lit bar, exercising the deeper, more eclectic selections of my record box—lower, slower and groovy, just the way I like it!

For ten years, I was heavily involved with the Internet radio game, hosting successful programs, 'Friday Night Live' and 'The M Shift'; on Indiesoundz and NSB Radio networks, respectively.  The M Shift, which ran for six years, specialised in breaks, house and drum 'n' bass, and was regularly enjoyed by thousands of live listeners, downloaders, and Podcast-listeners alike.

As above, I pride myself on playing a good warm-up set—added again for emphasis!—and believe it to be somewhat of a lost art form in this current age.

I also don't mind getting in the studio occasionally, but that facet, for now, is still very much a work in progress!
