Our artist led Hospital Mixtape series continues! Over the years, S.P.Y has become one of the most well-respected producers and DJs in the game with an astute ear for the crispest, deepest and darkest drum & bass. T

S.P.Y’s sets are consistently crammed with the highest quality selections, which hasn’t gone unnoticed. In 2015 he was chosen to present the prestigious BBC Radio 1 Essential mix for Pete Tong and subsequently joined Annie Mac at her BBC Radio 1 stage at Glastonbury Festival.

A DJ in high demand, S.P.Y has spent the last year touring the globe from USA to Canada, Australia to New Zealand. Last summer he took to the stage at Bestival, Sun & Bass, EDC and Tomorrow World! Yet around his crowded schedule he’s found the time to delve deep in his record box and pull together 31 standout tracks of the moment.

He’s got his hands dirty getting hold of 15 previously unreleased tracks from the likes of Logistics, Dub Elements, Anile, Whiney and Random Movement. His hard work continues with three brand new S.P.Y productions ‘Take Control’, ‘Second Encounter’ and ‘Silent Wave’. S.P.Y’s been in hot demand for his remixing skills in the past year with his (Not So Glittery) Sigma remix hitting the BBC Radio 1Xtra playlist for a huge six weeks running. Legendary Swedish artist and producer Axwell has teamed up with his protégé Shapov for brand new track, ‘Belong’. The soaring, anthemic vocal will sound familiar to anyone who has seen either artist playing live over the last few months, as it has rapidly become a fan favourite. The record will be released via Axwell’s own Axtone Records label, and includes a ‘Remode’ version from Axwell & Years. Axwell said: "Working with Shapov has been a real pleasure. He is one of the most talented artists around right now, and I’m pleased to be a part of his musical journey and to have him representing Axtone at shows all around the world." Shapov said: “We're very excited to be unleashing ‘Belong’ to the world! It’s been amazing to hear crowds singing it back to us already when we've play it out!”

Axwell is currently in the midst of a packed summer schedule of Axwell /\ Ingrosso shows, and is also taking time out for his solo performances as well as some special Axtone dates which will include appearances from Shapov. He recently hosted an Axtone stage at Tomorrowland, and last week’s Ushuaia Ibiza Axwell /\ Ingrosso show was a special Axtone party. Forthcoming dates include Axtone Mondays at Aquarius, Croatia on August 8 (Shapov) and August 15 (Axwell).

LENZMAN | THE NORTH QUARTER
Lenzman is a Drum & Bass producer creating his own soulful sound which rises above trends and pushes the genre to new depths. The Dutch artist has recently launched his critically acclaimed new label – The North Quarter – as he continues to release music on Metalheadz.

His fluid approach to making music brings together glimmering samples and bold collaborations set against the backdrop of his signature melancholic style. Since the release of his debut album on Metalheadz – Looking At The Stars – Lenzman has delivered some of the scene’s most genre-defying moments and gained a loyal and
burgeoning fanbase eagerly awaiting his next move.

A label named after the area he grew up in, The North Quarter is Lenzman’s soulful exploration into new territories and encapsulates his Hip Hop, Soul and Jazz influences. The imprint releases his own music as well as music from other artists, merging together vocalists and musicians from different worlds to create a deeper and more resonating experience for Drum & Bass fans.

Lenzman’s live sets are like his music: fearless and undiluted. Bogotá, Bangkok, Toronto, London and New York – when he’s not in the studio, he has a busy tour schedule drawing crowds and packing out clubs and festivals across the globe.

MALK takes the helm for IN:DEEP’s latest release in the form of his ICE BREAKER EP. Though now primarily a Drum & Bass producer, MALK’s extensive production career began with hip hop and has seen him produce and engineer records for a variety of Belarussian artists, further touring as a DJ as a part of the band LSP. Within the Drum & Bass community, MALK’s productions have appeared across a multitude of labels including Invisible, Kosenprod, Boey Audio and more, and his deft production talents have led him to work in close collaboration with artists such as Nickbee. Now marking his first EP release on IN:DEEP, MALK continues to add to his vast catalogue with three further tracks for his ICE BREAKER EP.

ICE BREAKER opens the EP with a subdued and funk influenced tonal palette, merging its smooth sub bass with a set of syncopated upright plucks to imbue the track’s low end with a uniquely timbred character.  BLOW follows this with a sequence of sparse sonic pulses, which reverberate throughout the tracks atmosphere prior to the introduction of a rolling drumbeat and bassline that emanates occasional bursts of distorted topline energy. MOVE then closes the EP, carrying forwards its theme of sparse and selective arrangement as the warped sounds of the track’s bassline wrap around the impacts of its deftly crafted drums.

Marking MALK’s return to IN:DEEP, ICE BREAKER displays a syncretic merger of MALK’s exacting auditory craftsmanship with the label’s sonic philosophy, resulting in a three track EP that expertly utilizes the full potential of its stripped down production.
