In late 2020 Satl captured the global mood perfectly with his dense and claustrophobic masterpiece ‘Lucid Dreams’. This summer, he flips the script, channeling hope and optimism on a six-track EP – Bedroom Producer with a Dream - a rose-tinted self-reflection, perfectly suited for the summer.  

The contrast between projects shows how effortlessly versatile Satl’s productions can be. He perfectly blends influences from Jazz, Hip Hop and Electronica as he connects with vocalists DRS and T.R.A.C. as well as Auckland producer Tokyo Prose. The project shows off his growing refinement and maturity as a producer who has a great future ahead of him.

 “This project is a reflection of my story as producer. Recently I’ve been looking back at how much I have grown as an artist over the years. From making music in my bedroom to being able to live off of music and playing it all around the world,” Satl explains. “This EP is about that journey: the ups and the downs. Since its early stages I knew I wanted to involve some of my favourite people and I’m really happy with how everything came together. From the vocal talents of DRS & T.R.A.C. to production assist from New Zealand's finest: Tokyo Prose. Some of the tracks feature beautiful piano improvisations by talented Leon Cronie which I re-programmed or completely chopped up. I can only say that I'm really proud of this piece of work.”

This October sees the continuation of the After Party series on Liquid V, as we move into the third full length edition. Twenty tracks of liquid bliss individually compiled by Donovan 'Bad Boy' Smith, plus a continuous DJ mix from the man himself to tie it all together.

As with the previous two After Party complications, the tracks are fully focused on the afterglow, and able take you down to the deepest depths of Drum & Bass. The Blueprints EP marks the welcome return of the talented Toulouse based producer Redeyes. Comprising of an ambitious nine tracks, Redeyes’ Blueprints EP showcases his exquisite musicianship and ability in the studio throughout each piece of music. In true North Quarter style, he effortlessly breaks down the boundaries between Drum & Bass and Hip Hop, whilst fully maintaining the soulful and heartfelt aesthetic that he is known and revered for.

The release sees him join forces with a plethora of exciting talent. ‘100 Porsches To The Stars’ brings him together with underground LA rap hero Hus Kingpin for a lo-fi Hip Hop masterclass. He also collaborates with Mancunian don Black Josh, Children of Zeus’ infamous Tyler Daley, North
Quarter chief Lenzman, and many more.

Subdue, one of the UK's finest rising talents, has returned to Riddim Records with some his most elegant work to date. With his unique and stylistic approach to Drum & Bass, 'Dusk', a new four track EP, perpetuates the sound that we at Riddim hold so dear, fusing tech-y rollers, glitchy beats, deep atmospherics and newfangled vocals.

The title track, 'Dusk', is our first stop: progressive euphoria with both incredible warmth and a delicate sound. Deep bass and hypnotic drums bring the vibes.

'When I'm Alone' hangs a sharp left into a dark and tech-y roller with seriously eerie undertones. Subdue goes even deeper with the glitchy 'Reality'. A murky stepper that combines a raunchy lead synth and powerful sub. 

Finally, 'Afraid of You' is the warm glow ending the tunnel, featuring the rich vocals of ES. Kay, one of Riddim's newest signings. A signature ballad to take us home.

It's been nearly a year since Subdue's last Riddim Records feature 'Who Am I' on our VA album in early 2020. He's now returned home, and what a return it is.
