Banoffee Pies Records 17th Original Series release comes via a 4 track Solo EP from https://soundcloud.com/gallegos_1991, making a return after his debut EP “Mad As Hell” in 2018. Along with multiple appearances on compilations and other series on the label, this record is a nostalgic reflection of UK club culture. A “Sentiment Of Love” - the EP title and opening track is a tribute to a time.

A positive selection of tracks starting on the A1 with a Winehouse sample, immediately carving the path for what is always a collection of expert sampling from our longest standing label member. The A2 offering, “Put Me In”, is a beating club anthem full of heavy distortion and all the acid lines you’d hope for in a moment at the back of a club. One Mitsy down.

The B1 “Together Flyin’ High” continues this moment with an elevating vocal and ringing synths layered with Broken Beats and the heavily percussive drum patterns Gallegos’ sound is so closely developed around. The last track on the release “Before Or Since”, immediately teleporting you to the end of a night. Something inward, for a time and place, future or past. BPR x

Long time collaborators Complete Walkthru and Physical Therapy join together for their first EP on Allergy Season, Popcorn. Salvaged from sessions begun in 2015, the pair present two lush end emotive house tracks, backed by a minimized dub from Jump Source.

Lead track “Popcorn” opens as a tight italo-house tune before erupting into a a wall of shoegaze synths. Heavily road tested, it's a surefire “big moment” on the dancefloor. B-side “Origin” is propulsive and pretty, layering piano and strings over an acid bassline.

Jump Souce, the all-star Montreal duo of Patrick Holland and Priori, hand in a tripped-out tech-house interpretation of ‘Popcorn.’ The meandering psychedelic jam teases elements of the original between tense staccato synths.

In December of 2022, with Turbo Recordings nearing the cusp of its 25th year, label Owner, Founder and Executive Vision Honcho Tiga sent out an urgent missive to friends and collaborators across the globe:

"SEND ME ONE AWESOME TRACK AND LETS GET RICH BABYCAKES. SEND ME FILLER AND YOUR PERSONAL CONTACT INFO GOES STRAIGHT INTO THE TURBO DISCORD SO YOU CAN ‘CONNECT' WITH OUR FANS.”

This brazen threat spoke to the hearts of some of dance music’s greatest talents, who within days gathered outside Tiga’s Montreal fortress carrying thumb drives bursting with melody, rhythm, and more than a little timbre. Now, after months of brutal attrition and line-crossing personal rejection, we are proud to present you with the very best of the best. 

While the mere mention of a label compilation is enough to get anyone’s imagination rock-hard, just consider some of the names involved. From legends like Soulwax (as 2manydjs), Matias Aguayo, Jori Hulkkonen, The Hacker, Seth Troxler, and Audion to modern masters like Cora Novoa, Disfreq, Nikki Nair, Fedele, Mathame (and many more), Turbo 25 spans soundscapery from the label’s rich past, rich present, and VR-heavy future. It stands as an unqualified triumph of networking, goodwill toward men, and Dropbox.

As Turbo Recordings joins the long-lived ranks of Northrop Grumman, the Carlyle Group, and HSBC Malta, this corporate anniversary presents an opportunity for reflection, a chance to bask in the refractory glow before the next 25 years of our label bring about Paradise on Earth. Deep within the maze he wandered between corridors and dense green walls of foliage and fear. He was lost and struggling to find a way out of this twisted fantasy. They'd told him to follow the inner path, it would lead him to where he needed to be and open the door to a world of new found possibilities and an enlightened sense of self. The dark sky loomed overhead as he looked upwards towards the stars and dreamt of home far, far away. He shivered and proceeded onwards...

Blue Hour is a label of which we are most fond here at Ransom Note, it represents that sweet spot between heavy hitting techno, trance and euphoric ambience. It's the type of inspiring, uplifting material which has been keeping us going through a miserable year and for that we tip our hat to them. This track is by Trading Xircles, a collaborative project which focusses on texture and soundscapes as much as it does club ready material.
