Seasons greetings! We're closing out 2024 with a selector that perhaps needs no further introduction, but in case you've been living under a rock for the past 15 years, we are extremely excited to present the next Idle Cellars mix by the one and only EDDIE C! Mr. C (NOT THAT ONE) is, in our esteemed opinion, one of the best DJ's in the entire world and we're crazy stoked to have him as the next IC mix for your listening pleasure. Canada-born & Berlin-bred, Eddie has been gallivanting all over the globe as a musical expert in a world of tourists, ready to spread good vibes and his sparkling personality (plus that Canadian politeness we always hear about) to the four corners of the planet. 

His resume is, frankly, ridiculous. As a producer and "editor", Eddie is responsible for countless fantastic releases across disco edit labels like his own RED MOTORBIKE, COMMON EDIT, 7 INCHES OF LOVE, KOLOUR LTD, SLEAZY BEATS, LUMBERJACKS IN HELL and many, many more, plus he's been fully embraced by the Japanese contingent with many releases on MULE sublabel ENDLESS FLIGHT as well as CRUE-L & SOUNDOFSPEED. The man's discography as a producer is as wide as it is deep and he continues to be extremely active with new remixes or originals coming out regularly.

DJ-wise our boy has the chops to be dropped into any situation and rock the party, whether that's at Cafe Del Mar, Panoramabar, the Sunset Campout or dodgy mafia-run nightclubs in deepest Eastern Europe. To put it succinctly, he is...THE MAN. 

We think Eddie C is a perfect closer to our year. Thanks for coming along with us on these journeys, and we hope you can give us a subscribe and stay tuned - we have some seriously cool things happening for 2025 so don't sleep, and have a wonderful holiday season and New Year. Eddie C is a Canadian DJ, producer, and vinyl enthusiast known for his warm, groove-driven blend of disco, house, funk, and balearic sounds. Originally from Southern Ontario, Eddie’s musical journey began in the late ‘80s, influenced by hip-hop and the early acid house scene. He started by making tape edits of late-night radio shows and immersing himself in warehouse parties.

His diverse taste and deep record knowledge were honed through years of university radio and 1990s raves, eventually leading him to craft eclectic, soulful DJ sets that span boogie, slo-mo disco, and deep house.

In 2010, Eddie founded Red Motorbike, a vinyl-only label that’s become a cult favorite for its dusty, analog-inspired cuts. His productions and edits have appeared on respected labels like Razor-N-Tape, Endless Flight, and Crue-L Records.

Now based in Vancouver Island - after leaving Berlin in 2020 and being a nomad for three years - he continues to tour internationally, thanks to his soulful, genre-blending sets and unwavering dedication to underground music culture.

Oh! We almost forget to tell you he recently launched his brand-new label, Disko Universal, debuting with an EP in collaboration with Keitano Sano. Don’t miss it!

A great and deep pleasure, to be invited to play at one if not London‘s longest running parties that is ‘Beauty And The Beat‘. Following the Voices parties that were held many moons ago at the legendary ‘Plastic People‘ at which I met Cedric and Cyril on the dance floor of course :). Beauty And The Beat came to follow shortly initially at Bar 512 in Kingsland Road, Hackney and moved around numerous venues like the Refreshment Centre, their long running residency at 'The Empowering Church' in London Fields, before settling into theit current home and incredible space venue that is the ‘The Bath House‘ in Hackney Wick.  

Cedric, Cyril and Jeremy the BATB residents, bring their incredible sound system to each and every party which incorporate their Loft inspired Klipschorn speakears as well as upgraded front end Turntables, mixer by Isonoe, crossovers and more and set up hours before the party even starts. The soundtrack in an uncompromising mix of African music of all diasporas. Balearic beats, alongside, Dub, Disco and House and more. All programmed as a journey through music. A truly magnificent experience, which I wholeheartedly recommend to the music lover and dancer. 

Recently BATB celebrated 20 years of their parties with an incredible party at The Bath House and heres to many more :). Merci, Cedric, Cyril & Jeremy and thanks for having me x

~ Pau Roca [Spain] ~

Let’s now head to Spain to meet Barcelona’s cornerstone Pau Roca, one of the most prominent and full of promise DJ in the South European area. The Sónar festival was not mistaken calling him “house master” as his frenzied sets are chock-full of treasure and masterfully millimetric. With such hectic energy, his productions and edits unswervingly exude voluptuousness and zeal from influential 808 jams. The Bon Records vinyl-only label captain busily contributes to flourishing and scaling the Spanish house ecosystem, so that it has now become commonplace to catch him bless the crowd at in vogue venues and festivals such as DGTL, Sónar or Nitsa Club where he has understandably been holding a fiery bi-monthly residency for ten years or so. You got it; apart from being an ace selector, he is also a down-to-earth player and a house devotee activist locally.

Given the kick-ass house mix he brings to the table, who’s more legitimate than him to embody Barcelona house scene? Harmoniously intermixing tracks from Omar S, Glenn Underground and Peven Everett, this set neatly paves the way towards the end of those greyish Winter days.

Esteban Adame is not your daily average bedroom dj but a seasoned and respected producer who has been in the game for more than 20 years now, and has already stroked the decks of the most prestigious clubs (Moog, fabric or Berghain). Still doesn’t ring a bell? Remember the spotless podcast he recorded for Resident Advisor two years ago, which made everyone unanimously agree on his talent including Spencer Parker and Byron The Aquarius. Hailing from the strong Latino community of East Los Angeles, he began his career playing in local backyard parties before expeditiously establishing influential and lasting connexions with the Motor City. 2004 was a watershed year when his phone abruptly rang with “Mad” Mike Banks from Underground Resistance (UR) on the line asking him to lend a helping hand to Galaxy 2 Galaxy and Los Hermanos live acts as a keyboardist. His musical imprint brilliantly oscillates between jazz, latin, house and techno jams with specific know-how. You might also know him as “Frequencia”, the alias under which he indulges in his darker side producing delicious fast-banging techno, or as half of the smoking-hot “El Coyote” project with his longstanding UR mate DJ DEX / Nomadico.

People, listen very carefully; this is house music done very properly. During fifty minutes, Esteban immerges ourselves in a gripping and nostalgic trip, digging timeless 90s house vibes from Rick Wade, Kerri Chandler or Jovonn. His set definitely corroborates that house music will never die.

The Russian electronic music scene falls within the ones that have hastily been flourishing and gaining recognition over the past years. Representative of an endless willingness to experiment and boundless creativity, we invited an artist who immaculately embodies this versatile and underground mindset: the hometown boy from Nizhny Novgorod a.k.a. Low Tape. As a producer, he has been unbelievably unstoppable lately, building a solid catalogue of underrated jams. First embracing the lo-fi house wave 5 years ago, his current sound has evolved into a leftfield lo-fi/electro crowned with a dusty acid signature. Always on a quest to push boundaries and deliver forward-thinking beats, he has his very own secret formula that makes his interpretation of dance music truly unique. No surprise that his productions have rapidly been appraised by top labels such as Nerang Recordings or Neoviolence.

As usual, his mix magically brings us in a mind-altering and hypnotic trip filled with nostalgia and intensity. The well-crafted vibes from Trinidadian Deep, Gemini or Daisy Glow are aiming to do colossal damage on both sweaty dance-floors and early night build-ups. It all started out when he first heard house music at the age of 10. Being exposed to the eclectic universe of electronic music at such a young age, the prodigy from Israel quickly had the opportunity to develop his own perception of dance music and be involved locally in the scene. As soon as he reached the age of majority, he released his two first vinyls and promptly gained huge approval by techno representatives Sven Väth and Magda. Back in 2012, he started to officially produce under “Mike Sharon” cooking up the timeless “I Feel You EP” bomb we have been voraciously listening to at plastic/vibes. Later in the same year, he co-founded his own record label Ultra Knites with his like-minded UK-based pal Sem Marini. The mission has been crystal-clear since day 1: promoting artists that bring true chord-driven and authentic underground deep house & garage sounds. Today, Mike keeps exploring house beats and releasing fresh material on top labels such as Local Talk Records, Traxx Underground or Plastik People. His subtle raw house style has been getting warm support from house masters Kerri Chandler and Move D, among any others.

Stop what you are doing people; Mike has supplied us with an hour of inspirational and massive deep house jams, flowing effortlessly from one track to another. His atemporal style brings delightful vibes from Ultra Knites, Lucio Agustin and Thomas Wood. Geez, the man never disappoints.

~ Ruff Stuff [Germany] ~

Coming from the South of Italy but now Berlin-based, Gianfranco “Nanni” Barnaba is the genius house mind behind the Ruff Stuff alias since the shared decision to split with his former sidekick François Le Roy. Growing up during the game-changing 90s era, the dance music advent has definitely had a direct impact on his current style. Like all of us, he first went from one dancefloor to another as a clubbing enthusiast before shifting interests to DJing and production. His electronic journey surprisingly first began with IDM and ambient melodies, which is the total opposite of what he has been brilliantly producing over the past decade. His sound epitomises powerful deep house cuts based on rough samples, groovy basslines, and warm pads. Besides unwaveringly dropping stunning releases on well-renowned labels like Madhouse Records, Shall Not Fade or Haŵs, he co-founded his very own one in 2015, logically baptised Ruff Stuff Music LTD. If you travel around Berlin, expect his name to be featured on Watergate, Sisyphos or IPSE line-ups along with the likes of Demuja, Dan Shake or Chaos in the CBD.

The 100% vinyl mix he is serving today sits at the intersection of rawness and delicacy. It is absolutely a treat for the house connoisseurs as he ingeniously brings first-rate jams from Grant Nelson, St. David or 100 Hz. Guys, you are clearly not ready for this.

In the ever-diversifying UK house landscape - and more specifically in the iconic city of Manchester - you can find the hometown whizkid PADDY. Although he has been in the game for only 2 years now, he has already made a name for himself thanks to mad releases in the local house and disco scenes. Actually, we cannot count how many times we have danced to his “Costa Rica” tune; a hard-hitting disco gem sampling Santa Esmeralda’s classic track “Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood”. Since 2018, he has been guarantor of a soulful and fearless house with smattering of trippy electro vibes in the UK and Australia. His very own way of doing music unsurprisingly led him warm up the decks and closing stages for house honchos such as XXXY or Mella Dee. He even was lucky enough last year to set the Warehouse Project on fire after Patrick Topping. Besides those early achievements, he also runs United Dance Club, an unconventional emerging record label aiming to feature high-energy club music from fast-rising artists.

Switch on the speakers, amplify the volume and get loose dancing to this transcendent electronic house mix. The good ears among you will probably recognise jams from Jex Opolis, Skatebärd, or Roman Flügel for the enjoyment of everyone!
