This episode welcomes a producer and product designer, born and raised in Berlin. He’s a keen collector and audiophile who’s making music as meditation: Premis.

His productions are equally marked by a love for the hardware instruments and a self-confessed case of Gear Acquisition Disorder. We hope to hear a broader variety of releases from Premis in the future, with his friend soon to start an imprint of their own.

But for now we’ll tune in for the story behind his musical influences.
Beginning where his musical journey took off: with Hip-Hop, moving through percussive and groovy house, into UKG and 2-step, and all the way to club ready house, techno, and breakbeats.

UK-based DJ Fried brings us a mix of trippy primitive chug, crafted during his sets at some of Leeds’ best dancefloors and downtempo spots. The mix coincides with the launch of ‘Chug Club’, a new venture for Fried (& Ku:ro). 

The label is their COVID-19 brain child and strives to create an inclusive space dedicated to leftfield chug music. With sets across the city in the coming months keep your ears to the ground for more UK chug sounds. @ChugClubuk

Eduardo de la Calle announces a tribute E.P to Detroit Legend Mike Huckaby: "When the Music finds you". Which releases this upcoming 13th of January. Across a glittering 18 years production career, under an array of aliases, Madrid-based über producer, the music chameleon Eduardo de la Calle has worked with many of the most important labels of modern times such as Planet-E Communications, International Deejay Gigolo, TURBO, Hivern Discs, Mule Musiq, Semantica, NONPLUS, Mental Groove, NON-SERIES, ORBE - as well as fathering his own vinyl-only imprint Analog Solutions. It’s hard to put a fine point on Eduardo’s sound. Equally capable of composing lush, languid soundscapes, exotic tech-house, sci-fi Jazz, and why not, brutal big room assaults, De la Calle is a truly multifaceted artist. Director of the well-known electronic music documentary BEATZ alongside Iban Ugalde and Pedro Pantaleon.

PREMIERE #1398 | Eduardo De La Calle - ITM OF Mike H 004 [Discos Movimiento] 2021

It only took 10 seconds for her to forget; one moment in the throws a dramatic, life-threatening situation, and the next awake, pondering where and what exactly plagued her dreams but a moment before. Her memories were lost, but she thought herself lucky. Whatever took hold of her mind during sleep must be something that needed to be eclipsed, the waking feeling of panic was enough to cement that notion. 

A familiar face around Amsterdam, former Red Light Records and radio affiliate and Music From Memory team member Kennedy welcomes us into his sonic world with DREAM1, the first official release on his own Dream Machine imprint. The two-tracker of warm, bright house jams, laced with squelchy acid lines, follows his production debut, In A Spirit World, a limited release sold only at Rush Hour which launched the label in 2019.

~ Daniela La Luz [Germany] ~

Daniela La Luz is the perfect epitome of the rare bird; born and raised in Munich, she has now been a Berlin colorful producer, dreamy live act, composer, and vocalist for many years. She is also now founder of "Dimension Of Being HUMAN", a label, podcast series, art and events. Her rich musical background and very eclectic tastes currently translates into a unique take on house & techno, travelling between darkness and light. Actually, she has released / will release on top labels like K!7, Rawax, Chiwax or Uncanny Valley. Her musical achievements are as a long as your arm; back in 2010, she brilliantly won "Qwartz 6 Electronic Music Award" in Paris. In 2015, the legendary Moodymann righteously picked her track "Did You Ever" as the closing track of his DJ Kicks compilation; this has been quickly followed with mind-blowing remixes from German house queens Cinthie and Dana Ruh. Two years later, she made her first appearance on Boiler Room and obviously nailed it. Before the crisis, she was a regular name in Berlin's best clubs such as Griessmuehle, Tresor or the infamous ://about blank. But COVID-19 has not turned down her ambitions at all. After leaving her co-owner position at "Parallel Berlin" crew (2008-2018), she joined the prestigious Vice Versa Agency roster alongside names like Aurora Halal or DJ Jus-Ed. 

This mix is particularly special as Daniela is offering us a new live set filled with a load of her own productions. She is exploring a darker side of the house we usually hear on plastic/vibes, but this is brilliantly executed and definitely mind-boggling.
