This song has such a great story behind it, and it really means a lot to me to be able to share my rendition of it with everyone else. I have my hat off and a full-waist bow to the original artist, a legend twice in her own right, Stevie Nicks. Congratulations on a double induction in the RRHOF and thank you for such an impact on me and many other artists I'm sure. This song was one of the first I learned on the piano, (and many of Stevie's amazing hits soon followed, Christine McVie, Rest In Piece my sister, was a sensational Pianist and I grew up in piano playing alot of songs from Fleetwood Mac),.
I was introduced to Stevie and FWM when I was about 13. I had started playing piano (and tentatively singing) around 11. I was a natural poet too and Stevie's way with lyrics has always mesmerized me (and like a billion other Stevie fans). She owns her songs and I respect her as an artist fully, but this one... this song GETS me. I started becoming my own person at 19 and there were some changes in my life that resulted in conflicts with people most important to me. This song tells that story for me. The people that influenced me to love music, and to love THIS music, conflicted with some of the most life-changing epiphanies in my life (some real belief-makers). So, this song is sort of an emotional one for me and when I heard it (it was on the movie Jack Frost, when Charlie was building the snowman after his dad died) I was like, Oh my god that is so pretty. I HAVE to learn that song. And what got me paying attention at first was, of course, Stevie's UNMISTAKABLE and enchanting voice. I had to learn it. Still to this day, there is an old video on youtube, first video ever posted, of me playing Landslide on my old crappy concertmate keyboard. That, developed in to this. And when I got stronger as a singer, it became even more emotional for me. @stevienicks, you're such an influence and inspiration and I'm a big fan, and I don't want to take your amazing masterpiece. I just hope that some day, you might hear me pouring my soul out trying to do such an amazing song any justice at all. That will be a life-mission-complete moment for me! Thanks to everyone who is listening and liking this. It's hard in the struggling-artist phases, and the best thing is to get heard and hopefully people like it.
