This is a live set made exclusively for Victory Beats. "The Glow" features tracks from various Spoq releases all in fresh, unheard versions. The mix seamlessly blends styles like Triphop, Chillout, Ambient Techno, Trap and other genre hybrids with beautiful cinematic elements. 

Spoq is an electronic music project created by songwriter and composer Wolfram Gruss. Since 2014, Spoq has released a vast collection of engaging, intelligent, and experimental tracks. The project is at home in various genres, such as Downtempo, Lofi-Hiphop, Garage, Wave, Ambient, and IDM, but also ventures into new forms of sonic expression. The music is often cinematic and thought-provoking, blending acoustic and classical instruments and melodies with massive beats, crisp electronic percussion, deep synthetic basslines, and atmospheres. Wolfram frequently uses sampled found noises, which he processes into instruments, adding a unique organic feel to the compositions.

However, the project's primary objective is to evoke contrasting emotions. The tracks are complex, both in their sonic depth and dramatic storytelling. Spoq knows like few others to use the power of subtelties to send his audience on an emotional rollercoaster. The music can seamlessly move from a calm and comfortable state to an outburst of surprising happiness or the darkest, saddest moods within one single track. Although Spoq's music may appear sweet and soft, it has a biting edge that makes it an exceptional listening experience.

Spoq - The Glow (Set For Peace)

The track "Small Car" by chöko aba & M.RUX traces its origins back to the original song of the same name by Marvin Pontiac, the alter ego of John Lurie, featured on the 1999 album The Legendary Marvin Pontiac, Greatest Hits. This album stands out for its fresh, humorous, and charismatic storytelling, seamlessly blending jazz, blues, minimal jazz, funk, and world music, all enhanced by hypnotic, repetitive elements.
Initially, chöko aba began working on a short version of "Small Car" on his own. When M.RUX heard this early sketch, he instantly fell in love with it and asked for a copy. Sensing the potential for something more expansive, chöko  invited M.RUX to collaborate on the project, and together, they set out to create a more extensive version.
What began as a simple edit evolved into a creative reinterpretation. Perhaps inspired by the playful and enigmatic spirit of Marvin Pontiac, or driven by the technical challenges of reworking the original, the duo took the track in a new direction. The final piece features Morgan Freeman as a somewhat unreliable AI speech generator, narrating the whimsical tale of small farmers venturing out to explore the world in their makeshift tin-can cars.
chöko aba & M.RUX filled this world with their distinctive blend of Dub, DownTempo, and obscure sounds, while retaining the original's quirky genius and the chants of the small farmers. The result is an imaginative departure from the source material, yet it remains true to the spirit of Marvin Pontiac.

The Magic Movement is excited to present the second remix EP of Noema’s album ONE (PART II). This EP features four outstanding remixes by Kelpe, M. Rux, Hear & Now and Nicola Noir, blending downtempo, experimental electronic, House, and Baleaic Beat, that will transport you to otherworldly realms.
 
M. Rux takes us on an exploratory journey with a strong 4/4 Bassdrum and cut-up bits and pieces of symphonic instruments.
 
The original piece ONE is an “interactive performance concert” that includes original music, interactive choreography and stage design, theater, costumes, videos and remixes. Sun Ra meets Steve Reich meets Larry Levan - imagine it as a “happening” from the 70s.
 
With 'ONE' Noema has created an impressive cosmos: He has written and recorded the music with a small orchestra, but also created the story, texts, costumes, graphics, videos, choreography, and showed an early experimental version at Garbicz Festival 2022.
 
In ONE, Noema tells the story of his space explorations, in which he manifests as four Interdimensional Space Voyagers. Because humanity has lost their ability to play and connect with each other, these entities became trapped in our dimension and now put on performances to re-power their portal, so that we can all be interdimensional again! During the performance five dancers invite up to 120 people from the audience to join the action.

"Under A Masonic Moon" is a genre-bending space shanty that blurs the line between 'real' life and allegory, using music as a vessel to explore the unexplored. The lyrics unfold like a cryptic confession, weaving together distorted radio transmissions, cinematic references, and cryptic whispers of hidden truth. At its core, the song posits that Stanley Kubrick, the visionary director, orchestrated the Apollo moon landing’s infamous deception—his meticulous eye for detail transforming a barren soundstage into the greatest masquerade in human history - to prevent war.

The verses dance between speculation and certainty, suggesting that Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey was a rehearsal, a technological proof of concept for NASA.

Lush orchestration and swirling FX give way to a creeping sense of unease, as the chorus repeats: "Where symbols dance and plans advance." The bridge, steeped in psychedelic dissonance, embodies Kubrick’s supposed torment—an artist trapped in a cosmic lie too grand to escape.

Yet, the song isn’t just about the speculation; it is about the power of music to describe the indescribable. Through layered harmonies and eerie, otherworldly synths, it transforms skepticism into melody, paranoia into rhythm. The very act of writing a song about a faked moon landing becomes an exercise in creative license, demonstrating how artistic expression can manufacture reality as convincingly as a Hollywood set.

In its final notes, "Under A Masonic Moon" is a meditation on the power of music to conjure the impossible. Just as a film can fabricate reality, a song too can blur truth and myth, proving that a melody can be as persuasive as a photograph, and a lyric as deceptive as a doctored reel of film.

In the end, the music fades, leaving only a question. How phat does this sound on a big rig?

M.RUX takes the spacey folk original and expands the premise creating lush tropical terraformations illuminating the dark side of the moon. With sophisticated rhythms and lo-fi pad-stabs this inventive version induces both the familiar and the strange. A perfect take on the supposed landing itself.

Nils Noa is back on his own label with a terrific remix that once again shows off his musical maturity, while Germany’s Steffen Kirchhoff also serves up a superbly deep remix.

Noa’s always atmospheric dance style comes on both underground imprints and big major labels and earned him the honour of being one of the youngest ever artists to do an Essential Mix on Radio 1. Next to being a promoter at The Villa in Oslo where he books international talent, he himself is an ever busier DJ with a unique style in the booth.

His remix of Amazone Ensemble’s ‘Native Force’ is a brilliantly weighty one with dubbed out drums that drop with real funk. Chopped up tribal vocals get you on your toes and whirring bird calls and colourful chords all bring an outdoorsy feel that make this one perfectly timed for summer terrace parties.

Steffen Kirchhoff meanwhile has released on the likes of Cosmic Awakenings, Drossel & Casa Caos and has an evocative and tender style. His tracks contain organic and spiritual elements like shamanic drums, holy chants and field recordings that reflect the beauty of nature. Here he turns in a stunning version of Nils Noa & Mari Boine’s ‘No Duohta’ that is beautifully deep. It has spine tingling vocals that are whispered but make a real impact, while swaying mid tempo house drums roll below. Wooden hits and dreamy pads add to the mellifluous feel of this late night and intimate piece of classy house music.

These are two tasteful tracks from real masters of their art.
