If you are into electronic music and experimental stuff then this may be an interesting listen. Its a feature I did on Sonic Weekend for Mark Coopers Social show. Sonic Weekend is a musical experiment started by Marc Hunter & Anne Shenton that has been going since 2007. A yearly event run over 5 days. It  involves a rotating group of musicians/artists getting together in a big house where a studio is set up. They group up and make music/noise. The output, a mixed, edited mastered album of whatever was recorded. I was producer/engineer for the last few years with Tim Dorney, Dean Honer and Pierre producing in years before that. This feature is a fast tour of what was always a total mad/fun/inspiring time. Take a listen if you dare ;)

Sonic Weekend Special

We can’t deny it anymore, friends… The summer season entered its final stage and that is a time that tends to always make me a bit melancholic. Luckily I’m not the only one who feels that way and for those of you who need some musical comfort, I got just the right Messy Mix for you, delivered by a true hero of mine - Mr. @joemorris from Leeds.

Joe has been an essential figure in the contemporary Balearic house and electronica scene, running the great label Shades Of Sound Records with plenty of sweet releases in that field, including his own ones. He released a new album called “Some Kind of Paradise” this summer which I enjoyed during the warmer days of the season. It’s a wonderful selection of 90s trip hop, downtempo, and modern Balearic electronica and I love it. Same goes for his monthly radio show on “Loose FM”... needless to say - I’m a huge fan and I kindly recommend you to check out his Soundcloud as soon as possible.

So, obviously I’m very thrilled to have Joe on board for this laidback new Messy Mix which goes by the title “Last Rays Of Summer.” According to him this set is a “collection of moods and sound palettes to compliment the last rays of summer as they melt into the first shafts of autumnal light.” And yeah, it definitely transports that atmosphere in a very warm and wonderful way. It makes that whole transitional process a lot easier and I hope you’ll enjoy this soothing selection of music as much as I do.

De La Bonne Vibe 02 – Olivier Cavaller

This selection has been in the offing for a few months now after locating a stack of minidiscs in a dusty recess. The plan was to upload a live mix from plan B back in 2007 when we welcomed the forefather DJ Pierre to our (mine and Adrian Blunts) established B-Side night at Plan B in Brixton. A 20 years of acid house special no less, the slight glitch... the mix, had corrupted and forever it shall rest in memory. 

Have tried to recall most of the tracks from that night and embellished a little with just the best ones here :-) and a couple of tracks dug in recent times that sit kindly in the mix.

This is head down, deep late 80's house barring the last track which is from 92. Its all early house forms, warm baselines. 

Featuring tracks from Delano, Master C, Hotline, Mr & Mrs Dale, Club MCM, Tribal House, Jungle Wonz, Virgo, Sha-Lor, Virgo, Blax and Mad Mike
