Eccentric and passionate New York native MC Whiteowl portrays the hunger of a rising artist in his literally out-there new video for “One Chance,” produced by the ubiquitous Statik Selektah.

Given the setting and what Owl goes through to find relief and sustenance, the clip’s protagonist resembles a hybrid of Tom Hanks’ Castaway character and a down-on-his-luck John Rambo. As in, dude’s clearly been hitting the weights, but has also lost his mind a bit during his time alone in the woods, where he fashions himself a spear to, yes, catch his dinner.

It’s all a visual metaphor for how Owl felt when he was recording “One Chance,” which he sums up in its hook when spitting: “If you had, one chance to kill a Statik track/ Would you spit heat on the beat or would you just fall flat?” He obviously put his all into everything associated with the track, from its borderline-scatterbrain bars to the video’s overall narrative (which, by the way, has a happy ending).

The project is slated to drop in April and has yet to be announced features and is recorded, mixed and mastered by the legendary producer/dj P.F. Cuttin.

Who is Therman Munsin? This name has been associated with this mysterious MC who apparently hails from Jersey based on information gathered from his fellow peers in the underground Hip Hop circuit. This enigmatic figure seems to be well known among the major players in the Hip Hop community, but not as well known with the core Hip Hop fanbase. What we do know is Therman Munsin has a project fully produced by Roc Marciano.

 There has been quiet talk that there was a fully produced Roc Marciano project coming up soon, and the Hip Hop community is now learning that the star of this project holding up most of the lyrical weight is Therman Munsin. The project titled "Vigilante Fly" also features Roc Marciano as a guest spitter on a joint called "Frivolous Wardrobe". Holding court with Mr. Munsin is AG Da Coroner, Guilty Simpson, Big Twins and Ransom respectively. Those intrigued by this character are urged to check out this upcoming work of art. Maybe as one delves in to this project we will learn more about this person and possibly see, hear and get in touch with more of his overall humanness. 

 

Some artists are deeply travelling through the space that their mind will take them, causing them to appear to be somewhat introverted. We shall all see what the man named Black Irish or Therman Munsin or both are all about. One thing is for sure: This poet of sorts has all plans to shake the planet and shock the world.
